Chelsea tour to Malaysia

Sat Jul 20, 2013 7:39 pm

Did you see the amount of Malaysian's wearing the blue Chelsea shirts in the crowd today. I thought that they didn't like the colour blue as it associated with mourning.

Look how big United, Arsenal and Liverpool are in Asian countries. Conquer Malaysia then move to different countries like Indonesia etc.

We're not a worldwide renown club though. We haven't won the Champions League 5 times and the First Division 18 times. Conquering these colours is nothing to do with colour

Chelsea have had to hand out free tickets for their game in Malaysia because they've sold so little amount of tickets. #SmallClub

Liverpool sell out two 85,000 seater stadiums in hours in Asia. Chelsea need to hand out free tickets in Malaysia to fill seats. Small club.

Heard the Malaysia XI vs Chelsea tickets are selling cheap or been given out for free. So go fill up the stadium tonight. #CFCTour

What's that? Blue is popular in Malaysia?

What's wrong with South Wales? :?

Considering that's where the paying customer will be likely to reside.

You're right there Jack, but you can't get through to some of these people.

Cardiff city's primary target market should be the city of Cardiff and the surrounding towns and valleys . A massive potential fan base with very little local competition . Aside from county and the jacks to the west you have to travel miles for the nearest club . I find it sad that the club doesn't see it like this . That should be the target market for selling shirts and ensuring people turn up to games . The tv money sorts out the finances . I would accept the rebrand if it was voted for by season ticket holders . The club could have easily done that over the summer or when the renewal forms went out .

Firstly, that's the worst football account on twitter. It's run by a Liverpool fan.

Secondly, Chelsea have only been on the big scene for 10 years really. They had no hope before moneybags came in, these things take time to build. I can guarantee you, if Liverpool continue as they are, and Chelsea continue as they are. There'll be a massive difference in Asian support for the two clubs

Doubt Chelsea only being on the scene recently will have a massive effect as Liverpool haven't won a European trophy since 2005 and have dropped lower than they use to be in recent years.

Chelsea won a lot recently so it doesn't matter about the past out there all about what is happening now for them.
