In relation to quotes from a press conference held on Thursday July 18, Cardiff City Football Club and Tan Sri Vincent Tan would like to clarify that while negotiations with Celtic FC were ongoing for the proposed transfer of Victor Wanyama, no formal bid was officially accepted by the Scottish Premier League Champions.

Having been unable to reach an agreement, we thanked Celtic for their cooperation and have since directed our attention to other targets.

In a nutshell:-

So when I said that we had a bid of £10m accepted I was indeed correct but I got shot down because the deal never went through I got slaughtered on here for a good week.

So can someone state what I said at the time was wrong ?

I dont look at it like that, i see it as info passed on if its rite or wrong who cares things change in football quickly with players, agents, the boardroom ect, lets be fair most of the stuff posted on online football forums is rumour or gossip 99% of the time, what would they be without such threads

Very embarrassing for the club. Makes you wonder how our owner can be so far off the pulse with some of the goings on within the club. Why open his mouth and talk shit? I would love it if he was one of these silent oweners who just sat in the background.

And with regards to Carl I dont really care. I like reading his updates, even if some of it does turn out to be wrong. As a 'nobody' it is nice to see about what is potentially going on behind the scenes. Your cut off point, excusing the pun is a very good point. The whole issue of ITK can't ever be never be scientific to the point of precise, but it can be a good indicator of what is going on i.e. there is a cut off point.

Those who seek to slaughter Carl are doing so out of gang mentality and don't bother to wonder if he is just reporting what he has heard in good faith.

There is nothing new in this as in the very early days of this message board he got hammered for reporting that Ridsdale had resigned 100%. It turned out he and Annis had been sold a right dummy but Carl came back from that stronger than ever and has been proved right on many occasions, including being the first to break Bellamy's loan move 3 seasons go months before it happened (He was called all sorts at the time).

Lets be honest if VT didn't even know the difference between an accepted bid and a proposal how the hell was Carl ever supposed to know exactly what was happening?
