Neil Lennon launches Scathing Attack on Cardiff City

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has hit out at Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan over the Malaysian billionaire's claim the Scottish giants reneged on a deal to sell Victor Wanyama to the Welsh club.

Tan revealed he pulled the plug on Cardiff's move for the Kenyan midfielder in a wide-ranging and revealing interview earlier this week.

But the Malaysian billionaire has angered Bhoys boss Lennon, who insisted Cardiff had not come close to matching their valuation of a player who eventually joined Southampton.

Tan said: "We actually agreed to buy Wanyama, but Celtic raised what they wanted.

“We were at £10m but they wanted more and I said, ‘No’

"They ask for £10m, and then the other party is interested and they say it's £12m, £12.5m."

But the Northern Irishman launched a withering attack on that version of events, saying: "We totally disagree with what he is saying publicly.

"There was never a deal agreed with Cardiff, and there was never a price set for Victor.

"Southampton's was the only confirmed offer we had, and it was considerably more than the figure Cardiff were talking about.

"It is frustrating if he is trying to give us a bad name in this deal because we acted as we always do, with the greatest professionalism and dignity towards ourselves and any other club.

"The bottom line was that Cardiff made an offer that was not up to the requirement of what we wanted.

"It was nowhere near the valuation of the player and nowhere near the structure of the deal that suited us.

"In the end, it was never going to happen."



Asked if he thinks Tan is simply trying to appease Cardiff's fans and keep them onside, Lennon replied: "I'd imagine so.

"But, if that's the case, he is not doing himself any favours in terms of relations with ourselves."

Despite revealing his hopes to make the Bluebirds debt free in the near future, Tan angered some fans by labelling Cardiff supporters disgruntled by his controversial rebranding 'disruptive and ungrateful'.

Asked if he thinks Tan is simply trying to appease Cardiff's fans and keep them onside,
Lennon replied: "I'd imagine so.

"But, if that's the case, he is not doing himself any favours in terms of relations with ourselves."

a huge superiority complex about Celtic. They are permanently to be a big fish in an ever shrinking

and btw: Neil Lennon's only "crime" was, that he hails from Northern Ireland, being a Catholic and dared to support Celtic as a boy. He even played for Northern Ireland (unlike others, who opted to play for the Republic, cos they expected abuse), was their team-captain and was forced into retirement by loyalist terrorists, who threatened him and his family and issued a warning, "he would get killed, if he plays for Northern Ireland again"...

For once i agree with a cardiff fan, i hate celtic with the pro ira sh*t they come out with, really can not stand them, they sing offensive songs about everything British but cry when songs are sung about them, if they came to play in the PL there would be big trouble if they started their anti-british sh*t in some English cities, horrible CU*TS.
