It is Less than a month to go to the beginning of the season. Why haven't we played any pre season games yet while other teams seem to have got a few under their belts? What benefit is this training camp in Switzerland having?

More than playing a few pointless games probably. If they dont know how to play football by now then we're fucked.

Because the intensity of the training camp in Switzerland is very high, they have two high intensity sessions each day, can track the players progress, the players are on camp(instead of them turning up for training and then going home or for example we played a Swish team, it would be stop start. Different managers, different approach. 5 pre-season friendlies is fine. Friendlies are glorified training sessions anyway

I'd rather the training camp than playing shit teams on shit playing surfaces, worked last year, I think it is better preparation.
Our fans worry about EVERYTHING. Here's an idea, stop worrying about what others are doing as we are CCFC malky has chosen to go down a different preparation route.
That's not having a go directly at you as I understand you were only asking a question and maybe hadn't read up on malkys reasoning for doing a week's high intensity training. Will defo give us a sharper edge going into games imo.

Cheltenham game should be a good test.
One week before their season starts.

Your absolutely right!!
Im disgusted!!
Malky Mackay did exactly the same last season and we never really caught up again
after a terrible start. The players looked like they'd never even met at times.
Oh, hang on.

An interview with our new head of Sports science said that Malky and his team favoured an intensive training camp over friendly matches because they are more consistent and you can more easily monitor an entire squads development and performance.
There is also less risk of injuries.
He also commented that when you play friendlies, you lose two days of intensive training either side of the game due to preparation and recovery time. With training camps, the players train twice a day in a variety of disciplines for 5 days straight.
Stop scaremongering and leave it to the professionals.

Meanwhile, interviewed by Sky TV, self-professed football expert Recharding said:
"Training camps, and fitness tests dont work, the lads need to be playing meaningless games
where they can coast for 40 mins before getting replaced. Switzerland and two training sessions
a day will not work"
