I totally agree with you mate, we definitely need at least 6 new players if we really want to have a good crack at trying to survive in the Premiership next season. I would be unhappy if we only signed 3 more players. I personally think that Joe Lewis should be our 3rd choice keeper and we should bring in a much better goalkeeper that acts as back up for Marshall and puts severe pressure on him to perform at his best. We also need a tall, pacey CB, RB, LB, CM (possibly a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder than can score goals and creates goals), a right footed, pacey Right Winger and a pacey, clinical, smallish (but not too small), hard working, fox in the box striker. Let's face it players like McNaughton, Gestede, Smith, Conway, Connolly, Cowie, Lewis (GK), Kiss, Lappin (is he still even here?) and perhaps even Mason, are not going to be in the Starting XI or possibly some of them in thematch day squad. There is quite a bit of dead wood there. Also, i think if Whittingham wants to be playing regularly next season then he has to improve, a lot. As, he goes missing in matches very often and we cannot be carrying a player like that week in and week out, we just about get away with it in the Championship but if that happens in the Premiership we will get punished badly every time. Not long to go now until the Football season is back, i can't wait, as i hate the bloody summer without it and especially with the ludicrously warm weather. I'm in my bedroom and it is 28 degrees with the pissing fan on. Madness, pure unadulterated madness.
