Call me a cynic but.....

Fri Jul 19, 2013 12:26 pm

Do you really feel the red means all that much to VT?

I wouldn't mind betting due to his then lack of knowledge of 'the way it is' in football, he made a hasty decision that he doesn't want to back track on.

He has recently mentioned new owners again, and that leads me to the point of this entire post, hes is setting up what could be a major player with top facilities in the EPL, maybe hes only sticking to red for now to make the next would be owner an instant hero when their first act is to change back to blue. Which would be a big selling point.

The stadium is still blue after all.

Just a thought, one which has probably been considered many times on here.

Gavin, Yes I do believe the red means a lot to him, but not as much as money and I feel this is of course about money and Tan is trying to sell us on to where he knows there are big buyers in Asia.
I also feel Tan is hinting about moving on, all about money at the end of the day, same with 99% of football owners.

He's hinted clearly on two different occasions what his plans are.
He is here to make money by building us and selling us.

Balkan feed clubs, breeding youth, training facility, premier league, bigger stadium, taking over ownership of fixed asset.

He spoke about what Celtic paid and got for Wanyama and wants to do the same.

A truly massive year for us ahead.
imperative to all this, is that we stay in the division.

Maybe VT's first mistake in his vision is not paying the outrageous price for Wanyama to stay in the Premier????

VT is not pulling punches here - he is clear and tough. If we get success on the way, that's all we can hope for.

Interesting scenario you paint there Gavin and one that is a possibility. :ayatollah:

I dont really care what colour shirt we play in,all i care about is staying in the Premiership, but i will pick up on something you stated, about our owners lack of knowledge of Professional football,i do find this concerning and would have liked someone by his side giving him sound advice on how best to run a Premiership club, normally i would have looked to Mackay to be that someone, but he has no experience with the Premiership set up,so unless we can find a supremo to advise our backroom people,i fear we may be handicapped

I dont know how much, if any experience Sam Hammam has in dealings with the Premiership....i would like to see someone with a fair measure of experience in dealing at the top level, who could guide us through this testing 1st season

For someone with a "lack of knowledge" he's done a tremendous job so far.i have little reason to doubt ue will continue to succeed. Don't believe the propaganda you're fed on here!
