Major news regarding Stoke City's away matches in 2013/14
STOKE CITY are to offer their supporters free coach travel to all of their Premier League games in the 2013-14 season, the Club has announced today.
It is believed to be the first time any side in England’s top four divisions has undertaken such a bold initiative for an entire campaign.
Coaches will leave from the Britannia Stadium for all 19 of the Potters’ top flight matches, starting with their Premier League curtain raiser against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 17th August.
The Club is introducing the initiative on the back of the increase in their income delivered by the new TV deals, in a bid to try and ease the financial burden on fans who follow City on their travels.
Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “As a Club we are conscious that following football can be an expensive business, especially at a time when so many people are feeling the squeeze financially.
“We work hard to try and provide our supporters with value for money which is why we have not increased our ticket prices since being promoted to the Premier League in 2008.
“However, we realise how expensive following the Club away from home can be for supporters and we’re delighted to be able to offer free coach travel and hope it encourages more of them to give us their fantastic backing away from home.”

People criticise them for their play etc and say they're a vile club but you can't put a negative on this. It was Tony Coates idea to try and get clubs to put a limit on how much a club can charge and to subsdidise travel

Bloody FANtastic! Well done Stoke.

struggling to sell tickets were they?
stoke and potteries hit hard times like us
good to see the club acknowledging their fanbase and understanding
the boost it gives the team to see and hear their fans, when you play away.

I haven't made myself look silly, I wasn't having a go at you. I was saying the general public criticise them usually for the way they are run etc.

If you look again Villa you say, "you cant put a negative on this". Mmm.. Well i didn't.

Fair play to Stoke on doing this. Potentially and equivalently it will actually enable 1fan to go to 2 games for the price of 1.
Well done Stoke, I hope other clubs look into this as these are very hard times for an ordinary football fan.

Low on attendances away from home or not, this is a brilliant idea.
Really will help a lot of fans at their club to travel away now considering the times we are in.

watched the stoke v villa game last season-was up in crewe for family christening and took in the game as a neutral-although our tickets were bang in the middle of their singing end.what a f**cking great offer by their club i think.-chatted with few of their lot and they do have a massive passion for scfc(shame about their namesake)so good for them.

The offer is only open to season ticket holders over 90 years of age accompanied by both parents.
