VT Statement

Fri Jul 19, 2013 9:42 am

I cannot believe Vincent Tans continued disrespect and contempt for Cardiff City supporters with his disruptive and ungrateful fans statement, and all because they oppose his actions of stripping the club they love of its identity.
Havn't you got it yet Mr Tan even after all this unrest, havn't you realised what a clubs colours and badge mean, It's the heart and soul of a football club, just ask the people of Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, to name but a few what their colours mean to them.
You are obviously way out of touch with how supporters feel about this too, arrogantly stating that only a minority of about 5% are against your red. Well I can inform you that the vast majority of supporters are hopeful and optimistic that one day the club will return to Blue and have the Bluebird restored, it's just that a large number of these dont openly protest it they just reluctantly shrug it off with the "we'll get the blue back one day".
The sad part in all this is that it could've been avoided, if only you'd been prepared to compromise when compromise was needed most I'm sure an amicable agreement could have been reached by both sides leaving everybody happy.
Instead you have a club which is torn apart with in house conflict amongst its own supporters and considering we're just customers to you Mr Tan isn't it the golden rule in business to keep your customers happy.
How many other foreign owners have forced such radical changes on their respective clubs against the wishes of their own supporters, NONE.
As for your latest threat to leave, I sincerely hope I can hold you to this because I for one can't wait for that day to come.

He doesnt realise mate and doesnt care ,thats the problem ,with him he just does everything his way regardless ,for such a successful businessman you would have thought he would have got the fans on his side ,given options etc but the way he did it was the point that pissed fans off.If he was gonna do it he should have slowly put plans in the programme so fans could've got used to his ideas ,put different kits in for fans to choose so at least we feel part of it ,but he doesnt thats why so many dont respect him.He has done some good things for the club but it could be so much better if he respected the fans .

Just say you get what you want and Tan leaves but before he goes there's no more money for transfers, all tv money this season and future seasons goes to tan to pay off money he's loaned to the club.Tan gets his money back but we've dropped down the leagues and where back in the shit.
I'll take where we are now thanks.

Its messages like this that really wind me up, we are over 12 months on and I can really understand why he said what he said. Ok we went from blue-red, Like many fans I’m gutted as it’s our historic colours, decades of tradition, but surely a club is better than no club.??

People need to understand, he is a self-made billionaire, was numerous business home and away, he has built companies from scratch and made them a success, fans need to understand, we were hours from closure and without this ideas and money, none of us would have a club. I hear fans saying no man is bigger than a club, but surely without a club a club is nothing without him. Yes fans contribute but come on, we were losing over a £1m a month and more, and yet people moan because we are not selling a million shirts in his home country.

This is not a re/blue opinion, but an opinion based on business success. Once he turns his loans to equity which is apparently is days away, I feel as a club, we have never been in such a better position. This is not about glory hunting in the Premier League, this is having a club, debt free and without the threat of closure. I honestly feel there will be a few clubs who will go down the route of the Rangers, Darlington and sadly Portsmouth as all clubs are struggling to compete but also maintain a sound financial footing with the FFP rules that are now in place. We were being called into court almost on a monthly basis when we were at our worst, the selling of players like Collins, Gabbidon, Thorne and our then club captain Graham Kavanagh. Honestly, when was the last player other than Ramsey, where we have had to sell a youth player to a top side????? Simple we don’t need to, our academy is in the best position it’s been for years now we have links in Bosnia and Croatia to loan or even pinch some of the youngsters.

I’m not dictating, just trying to paint a picture and help people understand that surely a club, red or blue is better than no club at all. If Tans sells up, we will not only be debt free, own a state of the art training complex, own a stadium UEFA standard to host major European finals, and also a club with a sound academy and valuable player base. Come on lads, we are Cardiff City we were never going to get £120m for free… Football has evolved, football is about owners wanting to have a mantel piece full of silverware to compare over a corporate event. But run right, it can also be fantastic for fans to enjoy watching the best football, the best player’s week in week out, and remember this is not about colour just in case you forgot what I said at the top.

Fans need to understand one thing and again my opinion and not a dictate, we are envied by a lot of clubs at the moment, almost an air of well jealousy I would say. Getting through dark times and I mean dark times, and coming out of this by having one of the best structures in English Pyramid Football. I honestly believe if we maintain our position within the English Premier League, we are going to have some very exciting times and I will be there regardless of colour and will be happy to maintain my 16 years as a season ticket holder.

Come on Malky Lad!!

You talk some shite.
Sam changed the badge, and a lot was said.
He didn't change our colours to the colours he wanted, which was green, he compromised.
Tan doesn't know what compromise is, hence why many of us think he's a prized c**t.

:sleepy2: I don't know many clubs that are envious of our horrific rebrand. Stop dictating how people should feel.

Just to reiterate I've not yet met a single supporter of another club who is envious of our present rebrand situation in fact every supporter of other clubs I meet sympathises with us, some even mocking us, as a lot now look upon our club as a bit of a circus.
This isn't just my opinion this is first hand experiences of meeting supporters of all clubs throughout the divisions as I work in an industry where people come from all four corners of the UK.

Depends on quality of fans you ask? Not one swans fan mock us that I speak to and there are many, they just sympathise as to where we find ourselves! But for the grace of God go us!
