All this fuss over West Ham tickets selling slowly...

Thu Jul 18, 2013 6:17 am

Look there's a month to go, Vince Alm has informed us of the way in which the club is allocated away tickets, that the club have to take a risk in buying a percentage of the tickets up front or lose the allocation. There are two things that need addressing here. Firstly why do the club not know they're fan base by now, do they expect the 3000 who went to more than 3 games to all lump in with a month to go before a ball is kicked? Most fans are still thinking of there upcoming holiday!
With all this money swilling around the club, surely the club can afford to take a minor risk and pay up front for 1500 tickets, surely they know that within a week before the game, if offered to the whole fan base they would sell out?
Lets have a little faith from the club, get off their arses, buy the tickets and get them marketed to the fan base.
I have tried to buy mine on the website for two nights, with no success, which s another issue. The club don't make it easy at all for us supporters.

My thoughts exactly. If the club can offer a player £30k + a week surely it can take a chance on a few tickets to allow fans to decide more nearer the time. Say the club did lose £4k on 500 tickets, It's irrelevant in the grand scheme of football club expenses.

This is the football industry where fans get treated like shit and players like gods.

500 tickets would be a 21k loss though, not 4k.

Hypothetically, if a Season ticket holder (who did 2/3 aways last season) has been on hols for two weeks, comes back and loses out because the Club panicing and selling to all fans, it wouldn't be very fair.
The Club need to change the way it allocates slowly as there is a month left before kick of and plenty of time.

I personally think we'll sell out closer to the time

Oh come on. Someone who went to just 2 or 3 aways is hardly a regular anyway.

The club cannot legislate for people being on holidays.
