Maybe bring 1 or 2 In!!!

I think 3-4 maybe even 5 as a squad, Getting a little Worryied better 2 get the players In early,as possible, And get to know each other, But Malky HAS HINTED AT 2 bids this week, So could turn round fast!

I have Faith In him to get the right players In, Not just buy for the sake of It :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think we need to bring in another centre back, full back and winger. We're ok in the other areas.

No we are not ok as we are. 3 defenders needed, winger or 2, maybe a central midfielder (not a must) and a proven striker from any of the big competitive leagues.

Not going to happen though I know

We are going down if we don't sign anyone else. But of course we'll bring in a few more players.

We need to bring in new players - MM said a few months back 5-6 players needed to be added to the squad.

We need strengthening in all areas. Lets not fall behind the likes of Hull and Palace and aim to be stronger than a couple of the more established Premier League teams. :ayatollah:

Totally agree. However, the word is quality. We've signed a great prospect and top quality in Cornelius and I think he'll get 15 + goals this season - which will be fantastic if he does. However we could do with another top quality striker to make it 4 ( we will get injuries).
I am not convinced with the defence at least 2 needed here, also another winger and a gutsy midfielder.

6 top quality signings will keep us up. :malky:

Cornelius is a "PROSPECT", he's not the finished article yet so I can't see him getting 15+ goals tbh, maybe next season whichever league we're in then he'll prosper.
We need 4 more decent signings particularly in defence because the squad as it stands now hasn't got the strength in depth to survive.

We could still finish 17th or better with current squad but its obviously far more unlikely than if we brought in some quality signings. However, I think this is our best chance to attract people this season because the fixtures are stacked against us before January. If people don't want to join us now they definitely won't be interested in jan because I think it'll be December before we can regularly pick up points.

We should stick to trying to sign quality young players though. No point in going any other way because we will be in QPR's sutuation if we go down with no chance of getting rid of our overpaid older players.

Out of interest who would be the 3 or more teams worse than you if you don't strengthen? Bearing in mimd the champions have finished lowest of the promoted clubs over the last couple of years, surely its too simplistic to just say palace and hull especially as they are both signing players.

Yes but of the players they've signed there's only one (possibly two) that would have improved us.

I do believe we will finish above Hull and Palace and then it could be any one of Sunderland, Fulham, Southampton, Norwich and Stoke. Stoke, in particular, could well find themselves in trouble as I don't rate Hughes as a manager and they don't seem to be splashing the cash at the moment.

I also think that if Newcastle lose Cisse and get of to a bad start the natives, and board, could turn restless and they might find themselves struggling again.

I thought Villa would improve enough but now that they're talking about Benteke and Bent going I just can't see where their goals will come from unless they sign someone.

Add to that the prospect that there will always be a surprise team dragged in to the fight Swansea, West Ham ;)

Pure supposition on my part I know but you would have been making the same sort of comments when you first went up and I doubt that any of you thought you would have progressed so far, so quickly.

There is still 5-6 weeks to go before the window shuts. That will be the proper time to assess our chances not now. Last season we scraped a last minute win at home to Huddersfield and lost our 2nd game against Bristol City, Malky then went out and signed Smith, Bellamy, Connolly, Maynard and Noone. The rest is history :ayatollah:
