Campbell warns Premier League new boys- hard work starts now

Mon Jul 15, 2013 4:39 pm

The Yorkshireman, who made a £675k switch earlier this year, fired seven goals in nine Championship starts and played a key role in the promotion charge and will once again be at British football's top table, where he has previously appeared for Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur.

Premier League veteran Fraizer Campbell has warned his Cardiff City team-mates that the hard-work now begins.

The Bluebirds' maiden Premier League squad are currently in Switzerland for their pre-season training camp and the man who took only four months to regain his status as a Premier League footballer, after leaving Sunderland in January said: "We won the championship title and earned promotion, but it's time to forget about that and push on in a bigger and better league.

"Now comes the hard work of tough pre-season training."

"I'm back and that was my aim from the moment I signed for Cardiff," said the 25-year-old.

"Every footballer wants to play at the top level and I am excited to be back there.

Huddersfield-born Campbell, 25, says he is intent on making a big Bluebirds impact in the new season.

He is likely to fight it out with Nicky Maynard for a starting place in attack when it comes to City's opening Premier League fixture at West Ham on Saturday, August 17.

"We've all been able to relax over the summer and go on holidays, but it's great to be back," says Campbell.

Meanwhile Malky's men will be followed to East London for their Premier League debut by 3,000 fans.

Malky Mackay's men start at West Ham on Saturday, August 17 (3pm) and there is certain to be a major turn-out by Bluebirds supporters.

Tickets are now on sale to season ticket Holders and gold Members who attended three or more away league fixtures last season.

Tickets are available to purchase online now or in person at the Stadium ticket office or by phone on 0845 345 1400.

Ticket prices for Cardiff fans at West Ham: adults £42; over 65 years £24; under 16 years £24. Disabled ticket prices: adults £32, over 65 years £24; under 16 years £24; carers free of charge.

Put Campbell in the hole between Cornelius and a 4 man midfield and he will score plenty!!
He will be difficult to pick up and is the best at the Club at finding space in the box. Play
him wide like Sunderland did and he will disappear.

To be fair Campbell was a bargain for £675k, Made a great impact when we much needed goals. If he stays fit for the season I can honestly think he will have the same impact as Danny Graham at Swansea. There's no reason why he can't score at least 10 goals next season if he stays fit same goes to Nicky Maynard. I think Andreas Cornelius can make a impact in his first season if he keeps his head down and work hard :malky:

Agree, If he had a full season with us he would have bagged 20+ Goals and would have been top goal scorer in the Championship, Lower half of the Premier League teams would have been all over him.

Will always score GooOOOooals.
