A forum for all things Cardiff City

Manager Malky Mackay has revealed that Cardiff City saw off competition from a number of "top clubs" to land Danish forward Andreas Cornelius from FC Copenhagen.
The Bluebirds shelled out a club record £8.5m transfer fee for the 20-year-old, who Mackay claims had attracted the attention of three English sides.
"Cornelius has great potential and is a very good capture for the club," Mackay told reporters. "We tracked him all last year. But by Christmas, he was in such good form we really didn't think we had much chance because top clubs in Europe were watching.
"We were in competition internationally with another club and then three Premier League clubs moved in to try and take him as well.
"But we were able to do things quickly and I have to give a special mention to Copenhagen. They were tremendous - efficient, professional and friendly."
Cornelius has been capped seven times at senior international level, scoring one goal.

He sounds like a fine prospect who has a bright future ahead of him, but my worry is how long will he take to get accustomed to life in the Prem?
We need to hit the ground running and our first 5 home games are all tough so have we got the time to gently ease him into things? no imo.
After Christmas we may see his true potential as it will take him that long to get used to the speed and physicality of arguably the strongest league in the world.
Really happy with this signing but really feel we need some experienced Prem players who've been there, done that and worn the shirt at this very moment.

The advantage of a lad like this is that he probably wont need ''breaking in gently'' - hes a big physical
player and like a Football version of George North probably dont give a f**k how big the defenders are
cos he's gonna go through them
