Sun Jul 14, 2013 5:27 pm

Bournemouth In for Mason, Loan deal, And winger, Att Mid player, Bid In next few Days, Malky Hint's AT :D :D

Cardiff City are to let Joe Mason go out on loan.

22 year old Mason signed for Cardiff City for £250,000 in July 2011. He was part of last seasons team who became the Championship title holders for 2013.

He has made 67 club appearances for Cardiff scoring 17 goals since signing from Plymouth Argyle.

Height: 5ft 10in
Date of Birth: 13th May 1991
Total Club Goals: 17
Republic of Ireland U19 Goals: 2

Since becoming professional in 2009, Joe has won the NPower Championship title, and become runners-up in the Football League cup with Cardiff City and was also named Cardiff City Young Player of the Year for 2011-2012.

He is under contract at Cardiff City until 2016, a player who in March was still much in the plans of Malky Mackay, Would he be out of favour much in the Premier League?

Didn't Malky send him back to Spurs from Watford after four weeks? :?

Also, isn't he suspended from football at the minute?

Though I do consider Mason a great player, 10 Championship goals in 53 games isn't fantastic.

He's young, but paid to score goals. If he isn't going to get much time on the pitch in the Premier League, I'd like to see him out on loan at a Championship club.

Bournemouth missed out on Simeon Jackson, so Mason would be an ideal Plan B. Plus Malky can throw a recall clause in there, just in case.

Taarabt's fantastic on his day, but Traore? Bloody awful. Wouldn't want him if available for free.

Agreed. Top player.

Struggling to understand why he went out on loan last season. They needed depth in central midfield, what with Park injured for the most part and Granero not up to standards. Instead the bring in Jenas - who, to be fair, did a decent job - when they needed as much quality and competition as possible.

Considering we paid 250k and he notched a few goals for us in MMs first season and also made huge impacts off the bench and got a few goals.

Like I said, I think he's great. But as you mention, he's made an impact off the bench.

Some players won't develop to fulfil their potential unless they're playing regular football, which obviously isn't guaranteed for Mason in the Premier League.
