' Vincent Tan and Langston deal '

Sun Jul 14, 2013 2:39 pm

As everyone knows Sam was in London for a few days and extended it to coming to Cardiff, Sam originally intended to only be in the Uk for a few days, but extended it to nearly a week as talks progressed successfully regarding the Langston Loan notes.

Another meeting is now planned later this month in London.
Things have started to get back on track again and hopefully this can finally be sorted before the season starts.

It has gone on and on and it needs to finally come to ahead for the good of Cardiff City.

Encouraging. Something needs to happen with this and transfers as the fans will be looking for blood

We are in the Premiership, we are spending big money, we are extending the ground, all this
with the Langstone bollocks unresolved. Cardiff City are doing ok. The only one desperate for
this to be done and dusted is Hammam

Re: ' Vincent Tan and Langston deal '

Sooner we can get rid of Sam the better

Same shit different date.
Hope it's sorted this time though I won't hold my breath.

Not encouraging anymore.

Every time they meet it always sounds 'encouraging'.

I'm with Tan on this: keep fobbing Hammam off until we've been in the prem a few seasons and built up a decent war chest.

That way we can spend the money on players instead to consolidate our position, instead of wasting it on Hammam.

Excellent post :malky:

It's the way I would approach it. Hammam's shown he's got no appetite to go through the courts again and has no security on his paper, so why rush to pay him off?

Is it better for the club to be debt free? Well that all depends on the debt.

Why would tan want to do that it will be over 36million quid owed by then in 2016 which is in a contract i believe  pay him off now and move on i say, :ayatollah:

it was 25 million in 2016 and on the scale of it even that is small potatoes now. i guess we will spend more than that this transfer window. if i was his age id take 10 or 15 now and enjoy my latter days.....tan wont give a sh*t

We don't know the true ins and outs of the langston debt only what sam wants us to know..
If its better not to pay him off until the last minute or even try to get out of paying anything if it benefits Cardiff City then i'm in team Tan :D

it will be renegotiated again, probably multiple times, by then.

With no security Hammam's options are very limited. Better off using the money to build the club because there is not much risk in doing so.

A question for EVERYONE..

Would we rather see Sam get £20m - or £10m leaving the Club more money for players etc

Bearing in mind Sam tried to f**k the club

If theres no security on anything why offer him anything at all like in the past, makes no sence :ayatollah:

I dont doubt that the Club owe Langstone money. Not at all. Unsecured or not we should honour our debts
But the obvious sticking point is how much. This mythical ''forensic accountant'' may well have given Tan a
right load of ammunition. We dont know. So we HAVE to support Cardiff City. Surely?

Nail meet hammer.

I suspect they're making offers they know he can't accept. Then when it looks like he might bite, the goalposts are swiftly moved.

“It's a difficult subject. We were instrumental in Sam leaving the club. It was unquestionably the right thing to do. People must never forget he saddled the club with almost £30m of debt and losses. He spent unwisely on players and that has been a millstone around the club.

“Sam, pictured, has had offers put to him to try and resolve that debt, but I don’t think he has helped the situation.

“I know from dealing with him that it’s extremely difficult to get him over the line on decisions.

“I have no doubt Vincent Tan will sort it out, but that will very much be on Vincent’s terms.

“He is a powerful man and the time will come when he will decide to deal with it. Nobody involved with the club need to worry about the Langston debt. It will be solved when Vincent wants to do it.” :malky:

I don't think Sam has got any chance of getting the full amount back, tan holds all the aces in this game.
I think its been mentioned a few times that something along the lines of Sam being offered some sort of role at the club as part of an agreement which could be possible if they both see eye to eye.To the majority of fans this scenario would be totally unacceptable and rightly so after what's gone on but nothing surprise's me in football so this is a possibility.
Hopefully this Langston saga comes to an end soon and puts us all out our misery. :ayatollah:

None of us have a clue, and not being rude but if Carl and Annis think they know the ins and outs
they must want their bumps feeling. He LIED to them about the debt, same as everyone else. How
on earth can they be so sure he's telling them the truth now. I'm with Cardiff City Football Club all
the way on this. We have cleared practically ALL debt in the last two years, we will clear this one.
- However much it turns out to be will not be a penny more than he deserves.

Re: ' Vincent Tan and Langston deal '

That's good to hear, Annis and I hope that it can all finally be put to bed for the sake of all concerned :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

As for the 'feck Sam' brigade, I can only say that if Sam is owed the money then he is owed the money. I have my personal doubts (with the 'cloak and dagger' secrecy rather than facts to back them up) as to how the debt accrued and who accrued it but it really is time for all concerned to move on ;)

If Sam does become part of the furnisher I wont be surprise if there is another rebrand dislike to it all.

Not quite true. CCFC is now more or less a solvent company due to PL revenues with ambitions to float on a stock market in the Far East. True SH has no security against his loan but what he does have is a valid contract to be repaid anything from £15m to £30m+ by 2016 at the latest, but IMO the debt could arguably be payable now.

It is conceivable that SH could take the club (not Tan personally) to court over the debt and win. He then would have several options to recover his debt, a charge against the company property, bailiffs removing goods or even an attachment to earnings.

This action would also scupper any hope of floating on any stock market as it would be impossible to prepare an IPO with a High Court writ against the club.

Whatever people think of Sam/Langston personally or commercially it is in all our interests to deal with him and get this matter resolved amicably.

Spot on Tony.

Tan wants to put us on the stock market. Sam/Langston could stop that. Basically Sam has the Malaysians by the bollocks. I don't expect many people to believe me on this score.
