" CCFC Club Statement On Ince "

Fri Jul 12, 2013 2:06 pm

Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Blackpool midfielder Thomas Ince will not be joining the Bluebirds.

Having agreed a fee with Blackpool FC towards the end of June and with the player and agent happy with personal terms offered, Blackpool manager and Thomas' father Paul confirmed on Friday that due to the recent birth of Thomas' first child this week, the player didn't want to leave his family or the Seasiders at this stage of his life.

In many ways I can understand TI wanting to stay with his family but leaving his father to speak to MM is hugely disrespectful in my opinion.

Not worth it if he couldn't inform malky personally. Disrespectful to say the very least especially as Malky had given him time to consider.

Agreed mate, no class. Should be a man at least speak to Malky himself. I can understand his decision mind, would be hard to leave a newborn

If he was expecting a baby why did we come down here and make us wait for his decision? Baffles me. Probably an excuse to run down his contract and choose which clubs he wants to go to which will probably be Liverpool.

This reason amazes me! It is like he didn't know he was having a baby until this week. What a joke

Re: Club Statement On Ince

If he knew this, why wait until after the birth to tell Cardiff. If he knew the due date was near to now, he must have known he didn't want to move?!?!.

Whichever way he said it or whoever he got to say it the fact is he isn't coming to South Wales. Bit disappointed but we now move on to the next target.

That said there was a silver lining in the club statement, they referred to us as the 'Bluebirds' :D :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The whole thing doesn't make sense.. hes known for how many months hes going to be a dad around this time? If he didn't want to move why make us wait 2 weeks? why even come down?

As any Father will tell you having your own child (especially the first) is an Earth shattering life changing event. Yes he's known for a number of months that this was going to happen but its not until it ACTUALLY happens that the enormity hits you.

I blame his wife. If she closed her legs then we would be welcoming Incey at CCS.

Instead, we will be going back to being linked with players of immense quality like Danny Graham ffs

Re: Club Statement On Ince

Could be a decision he may well regret for the rest of his career. Maybe understandable having a newborn baby wanting to stay close to his family but there comes a time in life when you have o stand on your own 2 feet. Disappointed definitely but I am sure we'll move on and bring somebody else in real soon. Just pissed off that this situation dragged on for far too long only for the guy to turn us down. Maybe we should go back for Matt Philips so he can tell TI what he has missed out on  AHHHH f**k him... there may come a time when he'll play in front of us if he ever has another chance to make the premier league then we'll just have to show him our feelings and disapproval ;)

Re: Club Statement On Ince

As others have said, seems very disrespectful of TI not to even have the courtesy to inform Malky personally.

We move on.

Only 40k a week though, maybe he couldn't afford to move his family down here

I can accept all of that Tony but for me leaving his dad to make the phone call is showing huge disrespect to MM, nothing short of wimping out in my opinion.

As a club we have no devine right to expect any player to sign for us but when we do things properly is it wrong to expect the same in return. I bet his agent is pulling his hair out right now as he has probably lost out on a shed load of money.

I just hope the player recruitment department update his dossier to read - Bit of a Wimp. ;)

Dont blame Tom. Malky and the club shouldn't have been so stupid to be held to ransom by a player with 12months left on his deal who has done nothing in the game.

Without mentioning the 'R' word it is still good to seeing us referred to as the Bluebirds rather than Dragons etc. (PS I understand the reasons for the 'R' but like to see a bit of tradition when its given freely)

How have we been held to ransom? I can understand that time was given to TI to make a decision and he turned us down. There was no haggling over wages etc. from what I understand?

I don't think we were held to ransom and there's no blame attached to MM instead its TI wimping out, end of.

Her Vagina and his Penis have cost us safety in the Premier League. We should sue their genitals for loss of earnings.

A difficult decision for a lot of reasons.

Just had a baby, family changes.

His Dad is his Manager, and might have influenced him for his own agenda.

We are a new club in the Premiership, an unknown quantity, come to us could be seen as a risk.

And finally with his Dad as an experienced ex player, he may consider financially the best option for his son is to run down his contract amd maybe get a massive signing on bonus, and possibly with a much bigger club.

All in all, I can see why he decided to wait and see, it's not Malky's fault, this was probably not the right time for Ince, that's life, maybe it wasn't to be, sometimes you miss out on one opportunity and find a better one just around the corner :ayatollah: :malky: :malky: Onwards and Upwards, lets keep positive ......

(He's still a prick though :laughing6:)

We gave him far too much time and respect that wasn't afforded back. Obvious he wasn't going to sin, now the club and the manager look a laughing stock over a player who has done nothing n football.

Ah well - on we go. No point dwelling on the could haves etc. Hopefully Malky will have a couple of other possibilities.

i guess all the people on here who kept saying he is just dicking us around should get an apology! think he would of been an awesome sign for us but oh well...
i can now hate blackpool with renewed vigour

Re: Club Statement On Ince

Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:05 pm

I don't get why there is so much hate for him, he's just had a child he's pretty young and it's not like Blackpool is around the corner. I understand that he did take the p*ss a bit making us wait but put yourself in his shoes. It's a bigger comminitment than many of you think. I have no doubt that his old man probably had his part to play but I wish him best of luck in being a dad and for his career. I'm sure Blackpool will be p*ssed off as they will lose him next year for nothing.

I predict by January Blackpool will be in sh*tstreak Paul Ince sacked and Tom Ince transfer listed for considerably less than what we were going to pay.

If Chelsea come calling for any of our players you think they'd stay? Your point has no value at all.
