PLAN B | Sinclair, Sterling, Frei, Vuckic?

Fri Jul 12, 2013 1:20 pm

With Tom Ince seemingly declining the chance to join City, who will Malky's Plan B for an attacking midfielder be?

I see Scott Sinclair, Raheem Sterling, Kerim Frei and even Haris Vuckic as plausible replacements, though the three latter names are unlikely to leave their current clubs permanently.

Only sterling from those few, however MM will have his own list, Ince never worth £8 million . Could even go for Matt Phillips,.Defenders we need, hope we get at least 2 in and a strong midfielder.

One decent season in the Premier League. Not up to the job now, in my view - though he is available thanks to DiCanio's re-organisation.

How about Callum McManaman surprised no prem team has gone in for him yet would be perfect for us IMO

That's the best shout I've heard since the transfer window opened! I'd rather the 8 mil spent on him than Ince (if they'd accept it) surprised nobody big have come in for him!

I would take any of these:-

Sterling, Frei, Buckley or Callum McManaman.

All four have top potential. Vuckic did well for us the first time around, but I'd be sceptical as to whether or not he'd have an impact in the PL.

Liverpool are linked with everyone don't see why they'd sign another winger they have enough as it is.
Everton makes sense Martinez. Still think we should put a bid in for him would be a great signing IMO :ayatollah:

I think Albrighton and Ireland would be decent buys from Villa - Ireland has had a fairly average couple of years due to lack of games, but he was awesome at Man City.

I would be going for Almen Abdi before Watford get him back.

Out of those four I'd only take Sterling, as for Callum McManaman I'm sure he was ruled out for 3 months so maybe that's the reason why there hasn't been a lot of talk of him moving clubs. I wouldn't be surprised if Malky was interested in both Eagles and Buckley, with the talk about Eagles at the end of the season and Buckley playing under Malky Watford there is a connection with both those players.

Personally though I think Malky will once again bring in a player out of the blue which will excite us all. I understand everyone wanting players in as quick as possible, but we have plenty of time and Malky is very shrewd when it comes to the transfer window. :ayatollah:

The wigan winger is a real prospect.

Vuckic was caught by a lot of clubs after he started for Newcastle and had a stormer.
