Dont know why, but the lack of Welsh players in our squads have always bothered me, whilst we sing anti English songs, Men of Harlech, I'll Be There and even Bread of Heaven! The quality has been there for championship level.

There was a time when the footballing authorities tried to force a rule that meant (from memory) SEVEN players had to be 'home grown' and that in Cardiff and Swamsea's case that meant being Welsh!

As much as I would love to have eleven Craig Bellamy's (Cardiff born and bread) in the team, I am afraid there simply isn't the high end talent that we now need out there

Most championship sides have a lot more British players in the teams. It's only when finances improve and scouting systems can be better put in place that the foreigners generally start to outnumber the Brits.



Also seperate point Scots don't count as home grown. They have to have slent 3 years in an English league academy before their 20th birthday iirc
