Whittingham was playing in a different role. He was like Luis Gustavo the way he was played right in front of the defence.

He still does his job and his passing his fantastic. Hard to produce the attacking stuff when MM is playing him badly.

Have a gander at the training photos James, the natural balance of the man with the ball, he's going to shine this season.

Yeah I had a look through them, I do think he's going to be important for us this year, he has to provide great service for the front men. Lets hope he's up to the task of weekly PL football!

He's played more games in the last five seasons than most players in Britain, so I would understand if he was either physically or mentally exhausted having been shifted into a new midfield position.

I think whitts was shattered after playing sooooo many games.he will do us more good than harm in the prem and deserves his time there loyal to the core and has stated many times he wanted to help us achieve the dream.

Whitts is the best player we have !! If he was put on the transfer list tomorrow there would be a queue of Premiership teams after him !! We need a defensive midfielder so Whitts can express himself in the Premiership, we could look at Bridcutt (young) or Scott Parker (mature!!) to do the job.
