5 weeks away and 1 player

Thu Jul 11, 2013 12:58 pm

Is any1 else getting worried that we hae only signed 1 player with 5 weeks until the big KO. As anyone knows who plays sport, pre season is key to making a good start to a league, and if the players are not in place early enough we could lose 3/4 on the bounce and things could be lookin grim for us

Yeah, that's just about right, but i'm sure malky knows this as well, if he doesn't he can always read your post, just to remind himself on so to speak.

Every person saying their not worried are lying.

Everyone is slightly worried about MM but supporters need to understand it is not easy.

It is not like last season where players saw huge potential to get out of this league.

We are team who could more than likely be in a relegation scrap and it isn't exactly attractive.

Re: 5 weeks away and 1 player

Im just saying I played sport all my life. We started our pre-season like most teams a couple of weeks ago, if players started joining with 1 or 2 weeks left to go that would just not be enough time for them to gel with the team and prepare for the new season.

Well i'm not worried one bit, it was the same this time last year when very few signings were made, then before the deadline in they came, malky has a big list of names which he is going through, some will sign and some wont, i've no doubt whatsoever that there are quite a few transfers just ready to be announced, trust malky, he's no fool when it comes to bringing in new players.

Jacks had two by this point and one of those was a loan.

To call the championship a micky mouse league is a total insult to all who play in it, it's beyond doubt the hardest league in europe to get out of due to it's financial rewards, a new poster eh, i hope your future statements are thought through a bit more than this one.

If you believe that then good on you, everyone knows that was the weakest championship in history last season

Re: 5 weeks away and 1 player

Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:29 pm

Of course it is worrying. The players have now returned for training and we only have one new recruit. Pre season is essential for players to get used to our tactics, increase their fitness levels to a position our club want and also to settle in the city and with their new team mates.

However, we are no longer the big fish and we now need to acquire players with better ability but the players with better ability are also being tracked by the bigger clubs. It isnt an easy job for MM and it definitely is worrying in my opinion but I trust we will find the right players.

Tell me how you explain this comment, the season the jacks went up we had the same amount of points as them, they went up through the luck/lottery of the playoffs, we on the other hand went up as champions after going top of the league in november and staying there.

Weakest in history :laughing6:

The year before Cardiff finished 6th despite playing to the final of the CC and most of the squad hadn't met each other 9 months before.

The year WBA went up before the last time they did I think the top three sides didnt win their last few games allowing WBA to jump from 6th to 2nd.

The Prem has been weaker recently too. Though the new money seems to be having a larger effect now. Think Newcastle, WBA, Norwich, Swansea, West Ham, Southampton have gone up in the past three seasons and then survived vs Blackpool, QPR (who lasted two seasons) and Reading have come back.

Re: 5 weeks away and 1 player

Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:35 pm

Of course I'm worried and I'm getting a bit restless that we haven't signed anyone bar Cornelius but Cornelius is an incredible signing for us and I don't think our fans appreciate the scale of how good a signing he can/will be.

I want more signings of course and I can't help but feel if the Ince deal was private we wouldn't be so restless. It's not for the one's who are trying though, Malky is working extremely hard to get players in but some just aren't interested. I hope if we don't bring in as many players as we would have liked to that our thriving work ethic gets us through a few games next season. We definitely need players but some people may be underrating our squad

IN MALKY WE TRUST! :malky:

There were no teams in last years champ as strong ad past teams such ad the newcastles, west ham, qpr, southamptons etc cardiff spent the most in the league so we should have been top

A far chuck of Cardiff's money was on Maynard and Veli neither of which played. On that balance we wern't run away spenders (look at how much Blackburn spent on Rhodes). Also in the previous two seasons L1 sides have gone straight through. Doesn't speak of a strong league does it.

No, and I wish people would shut the f**k up about it.

The right players, not the number of players is important, chill the f**k out.

I've said it before but i'll say it again, if we go down we get £60mil. That's the worst that can happen. Relax

Tbh Roath,

A lot of our debt is in progress of becomming equity. Which is great, but our debt Is manageable & is being managed professionally i might add. Our supposed £100 mill debt is f**k all compared to the majority of the clubs in the premier league!

Players, yes in Malky i trust. I have since day 1 & hes hardly put a foot wrong. He has the core of our team who have been working insanely hard to ready themselves for premier league. The new additions will simply slot into that testament whether it be this week or a few weeks into the season.

So? Whats your point? Malkys process for finding the right players and getting them in shouldn't have to
change should it? Are you suggesting that because its the Premier League he should buy players very
quickly? So far Malky has walked away from one player who WANTED to come, but Celtic were taking
the piss. By now every single City fan will know that we are in talks with numerous players but prefer
to keep things quiet. Mackay goes about his business in the right way
