Why not Cardiff?

Thu Jul 11, 2013 9:20 am

If the press and the Kenyan Football Association are to be believed, the Victor Wanyama to Southampton appears to be a done deal.
A number of other players e.g. Taiwo have also snubbed Cardiff recently and Tom Ince appears to be stringing Cardiff along waiting for a better proposition, having not exactly bitten Malky’s hand off to accept his offer.
I was wondering what Cardiff fans think is responsible for this apparent inability to attract players to the Cardiff City Stadium?
Is it that Cardiff are unlikely to remain in the PL beyond their debut season with their current squad or is it the dictatorial approach of Tan and the possibility that he will throw his toys out of the pram and leave Cardiff to implode?

The answer is obvious to me, Malky hasnt gone into the transfer window as palace and Hull have, theyve signed targets that promoted clubs traditionally go for, the players you have mentioned in your post are harder to attract to a newly promoted club. Malky has shown ambition in trying to attract players that are targets of more established EPL clubs.

If he gets a couple more of these primary targets, fantastic, we can do the remaining bits and pieces towards the end of the window.

I think it's because of our proximity to the rat infested town of Swansea. Overseas players may not have had the MMR jab and are scared of catching measles? Go stick your fishing rod somewhere else pal ! :sleepy2:
