Alternative target - MATT PHILLIPS?

Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:35 pm

Someone mentioned this in one of many Tom ince threads:

If Ince tuns us down, why not go back for Matt Phillips? He's 22 so has a resale value, has all attributes to be a tricky winger in the premier league, was a previous Malky target and would cost half of the TI transfer fee.

The added bonus is also that PI won't have such a significant influence on the boys decision.

Thoughts?

Seriously mate, we need to be looking at better quality if we're going to survive. I know there are some decent players in the Championship but we need to up our game to have a chance of staying up. Established PL teams have the experience in their squads to be able to take punts in the Championship now and then. But lets be honest, bar Bellamy - we have no experience. Reading had a very good championship team but did not add enough quality. Southampton did it just! QPR did the opposite and were all over the place. We need 2 quality full backs. 2/3 more midfielders and possibly another striker!
Only my opinion but i'm sure Malky is working his hardest - bless him!
