Good old FAW

Bloody hell, always thought them as a joke but to have a meeting to discuss Llanelli FC and Barry FC reformed clubs to be allowed back into system and then VOTE not to hear the case beggers belief :o

The FAW are a joke, something should have been done a long time ago. No one there has any integrity or passion to drive Wales forward as a football nation.

Embarrassing is putting it mildly.
I expect they got their expenses, travel, food, accommodation etc to meet up, to vote not to discuss what they were meant to be meeting for.
But it is typical of what happens when you have committees running things.

The FAW has been a laughing stock for decades now. I don't know if the story about reserve players being ordered off a plane before an away game, in order to accommodate committee members, is true?

But i do know that a few years ago, the (FAW) commissioned a private management consultancy company, to look into how the FAW were being run,,,,& then rejected the findings!

That's terrible. Absolutely shocking.

What a bunch of amateurs.

Driven Wales fans out like me also.

Going back a few years , there were some "grass roots" FAW board members who did good things on the board BUT most have now gone as they knew they would be outvoted by the "tally ho" brigade.

Needs sorting from the bottom up.

Unfortunately we're not a nation that can fight back but surely they can see the rapid downfall of the Welsh national team, ten years ago we had packed our capacity crowds against European minnows, now we fail to get 20k+ for big named national teams. It's a disgrace how it's run and it pains me seeing our national team fail like this. They aren't ambitious enough. The training facility they built/are building in Newport is pointless.

Hopefully the standing down of one of the members and speaking out about the patheticness of them and that vote will bring attention to it and maybe get it rolling. About bloody time anyway i could run it better.

Went to watch Wales play years ago on same flight as the Welsh team. I was only a young lad with the old man and
he gave his seat up to Mickey Thomas as it was one with legroom and Thomas was carrying an injury. Meanwhile all
the old fuckers from the Welsh FA were travelling on the same flight.. in First Class :o The players all hated them.
They were that tight that they would only get one Welsh Cap per season back then

It was the late Gil Reece. The game was away to East Germany in the 70s. There is a good account of it in Phil Stead's recent book 'RedDragons', a history of Welsh football. Except Gil was not a reserve, he was in the starting line-up. Had to travel out by himself the next day.

Reading Bellamy's book gave more insight and a players view of the FAW which is what we all share in ways.

I doubt I can ever watch Wales anymore, thinking over it they drove me out and decided to boycott but now I don't think I can go back.

I bet they've got the 90s Wales 'golden generation' locked away in a cupboard, each in line for the manager's job. Hartson will be next most probably, but then we'll have Melville, Page, John Robinson and anybody else who played in Division 2 and was born this side of Gloucester...

I still support Wales, and go to the games. Same as the City. Have not always liked the board of directors, but still go. Same with the FAW committee. Either we support a club or country, or we do not. Up to the individual.

Spot on mate. Respect for any fan who still goes.

I still find the whole rule of other players born from another country hard to take on times in truth.

But felt they kind of ruined the experience for me.

I don't like the 'parents and grandparents' rule either, to be honest. Fair play to Ben Turner, he could have qualified for Wales, but politely declined because he considered himself English. :ayatollah:

Agreed the FAW are a bunch of freeloaders & are out of touch with the ordinary Welsh football supporters.

Every autobiography written by ex Welsh internationals are less than complimentary about them Bellamy, Southall, Thomas etc

The worst thing is there's no way of getting rid of them.
