Bentekes handed in a request, I haven't heard anyone talking about how massive this is for our chances.
In my opinion we have a chance of beating Norwich, Stoke, Villa, Sunderland (I expect Di Canio chaos), Hull, maybe Palace (I think they've got alot of potential), West Brom (Squad simply isn't that good), then you've got your top team that always collapse. Any of those I think can go down instead of us.
Even though people are buying left right and centre, have you seen the crap Villa have bought?. I play football manager for days and I haven't heard of them.
Maybe I need a wake up call but I think we have a genuine chance. Make the CCS a fortress like last year.

Benteke wasn't a known name, whilst we've just signed another in Cornelius.
Their own new striker, Helenius, was voted Danish Superliga player of the season ahead of Cornelius, too.
I agree with you when it comes to the other teams (though I do believe Norwich are signing some real quality), but Villa are doing a fairly good job in the transfer market.

They have signed Jores Okore and Nicklas Helenius I think who are pretty talented, far from crap. West Brom have a good squad but go down imo but wont do as well as last season.

On current squads, we are probably in the bottom two in the league. Guts and a club ethos wont prevent a team from the drop without the correct players.

Who is the other club?

We're at the very least better than Hull and Palace.

Not sure how you could place us below either Palace or Hull right now

Although talented like our own youngsters, and the odd matured individuals, I believe palace do no have sufficient quality within their squad.

Well as it stands I think Palace will end up plum last, Hulls signings aren't really inspiring at the moment either

Can see us taking a draw from Hull, but 0pts in the away trip. People are dismissing their signings, some rightfully some not so justifiably. They have some very average prem players, and some top championship players who'll fancy a shot. I wouldn't say there's much between us, but they probably have a little more depth at the mo

fair comments. I believe some of our players are going to shine in the prem, and hopefully we'll continue to bolster the team with class over the summer, I don't see Hull matching us in quality.

I can't see West Brom struggling - they did fairly well last year. The favourites are no doubt Palace, Hull and us. Somebody else made a good point about Benteke possibly leaving Villa though - that won't do 'em any good.
On the subject of Benteke, it's understandable that a successful player would want to further their career, but at least see out your contract, eh? Bloody mercenaries... If it wasn't for Villa, he'd still be a nobody.

If Villa lose Benteke they wont be able to find an on par replacement and he kept them up last season imo. I can see Palace and Hull taking up the bottom spots and us fighting it out with the likes of Sunderland, Norwich and Villa.
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:39 am
Palace, Sunderland and Hull
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:42 am
Palace bottom, then Stoke then Hull
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:47 am
Hull, Aston Villa and Sunderland
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:49 am
I think your forgetting if villa sell benteke they are going to have an extra 20 million odd to spend on players
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:49 am
Sunderland won't finish in bottom three IMO. Two of the three will be the promoted clubs. The other spot coming from: Norwich, Swansea, Stoke and Fulham.
Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:51 am
What about Norwich and West Ham?

Centre half position worries me the most, in terms of experience and pace. The Danish tank is very promising, and im sure will deliver, but id like to see another striker, as the Danish league is not much better, if any, than mls etc. Although likeable squad members Maynard and Campbell are not good enough. Deluded to think otherwise. Campbell could make a fist of it I suppose but hes a walking injury

Don't agree with the deluded comment, I can understand scepticism but we don't KNOW how well Campbell/Maynard will perform in the premier, they might come good.

We do know though, campbell stuggled with sunderland and maybard with west ham

I think West Ham will have too much with their home crowd and Carroll.

Well Campbell was injured for quite some time with Sunderland and I don't think Maynard was really given an opportunity in the prem with West Ham

We all want the bluebirds to do well at the end of the day and im sure 100% of us would welcome a sub keeper, defender and fox in the box haha. Im sure itll unravel in the next few weeks. Although its gone quiet, we are bound to have 10-20 potential enquiries and a four or five shortlist. Im nervous yet entirely confident we will get a bit of quality, based purely on the kimbo type coup last window
