We're Championship winners, Fa Cup, Carling Cup and Play-off finalists in the last few years, yet just before this we were getting awful crowds compared to now. Fans can be very fickle. Pompey have a great fanbase. I wish them the best for next year :ayatollah:

Fair play doing the league a huge favour. I wonder how many Wolves fans will be showing out next year...

So if we went back down to Div 4, you'd assume we would still get 20k STs and 26k sellouts ?! :laughing5: deluded.

Good on them. Real fans stay by their club no matter what.

Clueless you are. Pompeys support comes from sustained periods in the Premiership over a number of years.
They should be applauded. If you think the ''johnny cum lately'' Cardiff City supporters who went to the FA Cup
and Carling Cup Finals would hang around for lower league football you really havent got a scooby.

So you think that they are still going based on success from 5 years ago?

Anyway. Good for Pompey they have a passionate fanbase.

Good to hear that the Pompey fans are rallying round, sometimes it takes a club hitting rock bottom to wake the fans up. (Not really the case with Portsmouth. I know that their fans have been have been busy for some time,)

I saw it with the Swans years back, it took us being on our arse to get the fans coming back, and it's the same with Hearts at the moment. Fingers crossed, Portsmouth can get their act together now.

Pompey were always well supporterd during the bad old days in Div4 Way above most teams.
How many would we get if we had 3 relegations?

No, you didn't say that. But going by your theory, that is what you think would happen... surely?

Either that or you are concluding that your own theory is nonsense.

Funny how others have also questioned your theory, yet you didn't throw childish & pathetic insults their way. Grow up.

Not at all, I didn't mention Cardiff/us in the thread did I? I just have a firm disliking for Portsmouth. I think we'd have crowds of around 15k I guess, since all the people on here miss smoking a pipe and eating a burnt pie at Rochdale

Re: ". Now that is loyalty. "

Mon Jul 08, 2013 12:17 pm

 15k in the basement... Okay then.

No, I've already noted that you didn't mention Cardiff. I used your theory on Cardiff, to prove that your theory is one I don't agree with.

Also, no need for the childish abuse. Like I said, grow up.

Best to wait until they have had 5 years in the bottom league before looking at crowds.
Many of those fans are just buying tickets to help the club survive, but once they have dodged all their bills for a 2nd time and they have not pushed on I think crowds will drop big time.

Most fans couldn't be arsed with a cup semi only last season. We'd get around 7-8k tops.

15k? We wouldn't get that in league one with the fickle nature of our fans.

Bit harsh dude, most of us disagreed with you. No need to pick out individuals that you dislike when there are others like myself who don't agree with you. Calm down this is only a messageboard.... :ayatollah:
