Wanyama? Extra 2 million!

Fri Jul 05, 2013 8:47 pm

I don't know what the situation is with wanyama anything could be happening for all I know, but I think he is a quality player and we could build the team around him, was looking at more of his goals earlier and some amazing strikes the boy can strike the ball in zidane fashion he looks that good with his technique striking the ball not to mention his tackling, strength and passing ability and I think he looks like he reads the game well too.
With all this quality surely malky and cardiff should bite the bullet and not be so stubborn and add another 2million to the offer and meet celtics valuation. We will miss out on this if it don't come off so come on city lets go for it!
Do you think this deal could still happen?

to late think he has already singed for southampton :( :ayatollah: :malky: never mind on to the next

Cannot agree.

You can buy a first team defender for £2million. You can also get a Wanyama level player for £10million. You definitely cannot get both o these things if you spend it all on Wanyama.

Lets not forget How we have overspent in the past and got into trouble.

Cant believe I'm talking about £10million as NOT overspending.

Would you spend 80 quid on a pair of trainers you only value at 60?

It makes me laugh how the fans justifying their stance of accepting the rebrand "for the financial stability of our club" are the same fans who are now wanting us to fork out an extra couple of million to sign a player!

That isn't directed at you Cakey, I know you don't have a problem with us playing in red and I don't know your reasons why us playing in red is fine with you. But I've already spoken to a few pro rebrand fans who are wanting us to pay a bit extra for Wanyama and it goes totally against everything they have previously said about accepting the rebrand for our "financial stability". Financial stability of our club? My arse! These fans just want success at any cost and if things don't work out, we will go bust!

The fees quoted are absolute madness for a team in their first season in the Premiership with a continuously increasing debt. I shudder to think what will happen to us if we get relegated! Will some of you please wake up and realise the impact this erratic spending could have? This is a risk and it isn't even a calculated risk, it's an unneccessary risk that could put us in an impossible position if things go wrong. This isn't a rebrand post, it's a post about our current spending policy. I know we have only signed Cornelius so far, but the fact we are bidding 10 million plus for players in our current situation is absolutely suicidal!

And how much million did we get for getting to the premiership something like 80million? People forget that money, I'm sure some of that will be going on players along with tans own money. People who think he is gonna leave the club in loads of debt are just a bit paranoid imo and its all speculation.

Wanyama is easily worth 12m in todays market. Thats 3 million less that Joe Allen ffs :o
I can't believe one of the top 6 clubs haven't come in for him. I've no doubt that whoever he goes to this time will probably make a 10m profit on him after a couple of seasons in the EPL.

I took the risk and spent 20 quid more than I should have on a pair of lovely looking trainers. Did the risk pay off?...No it didn't. Lo and behold I get an in growing toenail and the clap in the same night and can't even afford a lamb doner

I'm not sure what to think, I think if we don't get him we will definitely missed out on his qualities but how do we get money back for him? Say he did come here and done well, how do we recoup money back for him? United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal etc ain't gonna splash out on him cos they had the chance to before us and Saints did, but I definitely think he's worth 12m. Malky's 750k off meeting the valuation

What's more important? Competing in the Premier League for 1 season, or clearing our debt to put us in a better position to compete for several future seasons? Even if we get relegated, I would rather have a large chunk of our debt cleared. Some of you want expensive, exciting players joining us so we can compete in the Premiership without giving any consideration for the future of our club. That's all I am going to say as the sun is out and I am not wasting the day being stuck inside on my laptop on a day like this!

Re: Wanyama? Extra 2 million!

Tan has made loads of money.

He obviously thinks spending on players is worthwhile spending and not a waste of money, he must have something lined up as I dont see him wasting money and getting relegated like fernandes and qpr because malky won't spend stupidly. Mm has stated on more than one occasion that vt likes to know what he is spending, so imo vt and his team of accountants and advisors clearly have a figure in mind to spend to stay up and establish. After we do that we can start to pay off our debts...although I don't think we will need to as I think vt already had other backers on board or ready to jump on if we stay up.

I think a lot of people after this season will regret wasting their first season of prem football worrying and moaning when they could of been enjoying the ride. I have zero worry over our finances now. We are ideally situated to be a big club and I think big money is interested in ccfc.
