If we get Wanyama or similar then yes an advanced role, but if we don't get someone then he would be playing in front of the back four, wasted there

Agreed :malky:

Best passer at the club and we will need good ball retention in the PL.

whitts will be vital for us this season, his dead ball ability alone will be worth goals.

loves whitts but if the only tactics our opposition need to remember is close whitts down he dont like playing in confined spaces then we be pretty easy to stop! technicaly and tactically i think he is behind kim bo now who is good even wen they close him down. his pass to frazer at hull... ping!!! class!!

In my opinion, the Premier League allows players a little more time on the ball, mainly because the opposition are so will drilled positionally that even when somebody like Whitts has the ball, the opposition are working harder on limiting his options in terms of passes he can make rather than what they do in the Chamionship which is rush in a little too hastily at times which will sometimes works and sometimes not creating openings.

Hopefully players like Whitts, Kim & Craig will benefit from this but there will be more emphasis on our players moving intelligently in order to create an option for one/two or all three of those.

I think, from what I have read, Cornelius has great movement but also gives the option of an aerial ball which we all know Whitts can deliver almost pinpoint.

I'm hugely looking forward to seeing us and our more skillful/technically gifted players play this year and I think this is what might set us apart from other strugglers, I don't think Hull, Palace or Norwich, to name only 3 will match us in this area. Reluctant as I am to admit it but this is why Swansea and Southampton have transferred from chamionship to Premier League successfully and why I think we can too.

Great post mate

Agree with all of that. Better players around him with better movement will bring out the best in the Whitts I think.
