SHELVEY or INCE

Wed Jul 03, 2013 2:40 pm

I wonder how Laudrup will feel if/when we sign Ince for £8m. I cant help but wonder if Alien Shelvey was one of Laudrups targets or one of Jenkins'? I cant help get the feeling all is still not well over at the Pond Life Stadium. Malky must be gutted he doesnt have a chairman who also acts as chief scout

Different positions, cannot compare, but would prefer to have an Ince in my side than a Shelvey .

This.

Whilst Shelvey has a lot of potential, he had a mixed season last year. I think part of his problem is the defensive side of the game, he seems overly aggressive and a bad tackler when I've seen him, remember his red card in the Liverpool v United game.

I think Ince is overpriced but it looks a better deal than Shelvey.

Neither worth the money imo

Which Evans should have been sent off for as well. Shelvey was over the top a bit, but Evans went in 2 footed.

we've got tidy wide players so that wasn't a priority really , liverpool fans from what i've been reading reckon that he's a good player but needs a change of club and a new challenge so if we do sign him who knows , not one to get the pulse racing though

I'd rate em as..

Pace.. Ince
Experience .. Shelvey
Close control... Ince
Temperament .. Ince
Strength .... Shelvey
Dribbling ability.... Ince
Passing.. Both good passers, to close to call
Shooting... Ince
Versatility... Shelvey
Potential ... Ince
Price... Both to high .

I think shelvey could outshine ince this season but ince will go on to be the better player.

Seems a good assessment. Shelvey is far more experienced, but should Ince work hard I also believe he will become the better asset to whatever team he ends up at.

Well at least you (and us) have heard of him, and one bonus is that you can pronounce his name.
Language might be a problem?? For him and the rest of your squad.

To be honest i think both transfers would work better the other way round. Shelveys big game experience means he should hit the ground running, which is what we need whereas ince may need a year or two, witch is no good for us but could suit you if some of your wide men leave.

Play completely different positions.

Would love both players right now.

Think ince can become a better player than shevley can get to though. But think shelvey will do great for the jacks

Yeh you are right in that case, but along with a few other things I've seem he's seems to be a little bit a reckless bugger, was good for Blackpool in the Champ mind, coincidentally with Ince coming from there ;)
