Cardozo to Cardiff, what do you think? Would it ever happen?

That revelation on the part of the Cardiff boss has raised the idea of whether the Bluebirds can pull off what would surely be classed as the shock transfer of the summer.
Cardiff performed admirably last season to secure their place in the Premier League and they have to be praised for showing superb ambition in the transfer market.
The aim for Cardiff next season is always going to be to avoid going back down to the Championship and if they could get Cardozo, or someone of his profile and calibre, their chances of doing just that would be greatly improved.
Cardozo is a player who has been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool since the close of last season, which shows just what Cardiff are up against if they want to go after him with a serious offer.
“I know all about the attributes of Cardozo. I know exactly how he plays. I think he would suit our game and would be interesting for us,” Mackay told Portuguese paper Record.
The problem Cardiff face in that respect is those bigger sides can compete in terms of any fee which is demanded and they would likely be able to offer better personal terms than Cardiff could come up with.
Manchester City, another team linked with him, would certainly be in a position to blow Cardiff out of the water in terms of the wages they can offer the forward.
That means the deal would rest on opportunity and a little bit of luck. Opportunity in the respect of the timing of any deal and luck in the respect that no other bigger sides are in for him.
Cardozo would certainly be the main man in the Cardiff attack, guaranteed of his place and given the chance to play a significant role in powering the side up the table.
However, Cardozo is now used to a certain profile of football club that he plays for; one that can compete strongly on the domestic scene for silverware as well as the opportunity to play in Europe.
It’s the latter that is a serious disadvantage to Cardiff because they can effectively sell the football club as well as any other side but Cardozo will always choose a team where he has the chance to play Champions League football regularly.
The striker would be a real statement of intent for Cardiff and it’s a signing which would strike fear into the hearts of any team expected to be scrapping with them to avoid the drop.
It just seems that the profile and cost involved in the deal on the personal terms side of things, would make the deal too difficult to actually happen, but it’s superb to see Mackay talking about the best calibre of players in other parts of Europe.

It will be amazing if we could ever pull it off but it is a step to far for us.
It is fantastic we even considering him and that MM is not afraid about going in for players like this.

And yet his agent quoted in an interview that he was in advanced with two premier league clubs and that he will not be at his present club this coming season and that he would be gone by July 17th, all wrapped up
