Rodgers is ready to hijack ex-Kop kid Tom Ince’s £8m move to Wales.

The England Under-21 star is sure to quit Blackpool, with Cardiff ahead of rivals Swansea for the winger’s signature.

But Rodgers is now set to resurrect his interest in the former Anfield prospect, who left for Bloomfield Road on the cheap.

Cardiff have tabled a £40,000-a-week pay deal but Ince, 21, has been in no rush to complete the move.

And the prospect of a return to Liverpool with the promise of regular footballwould give Rodgers the edge in negotiations.

Rodgers shelved a move for Ince in January and has been chasing Porto ace Christian Atsu, 21, instead but his pursuit of the Ghanaian has stalled.

Liverpool’s interest is complicated by a 35 per cent sell-on clause in the original deal that took Ince to Blackpool in August 2011.

But the academy graduate blossomed under Ian Holloway’s guidance, scoring 18 league goals last season.

Meanwhile, Kolo Toure completed his move to Anfield from Manchester City yesterday and said the Scouse spirit played a key part in his decision.

The Ivory Coast defender, 32, a title winner with Arsenal and City, said: “I’m joining one of the best clubs in England.

“I chose Liverpool because of the history and because of the spirit of the team and the people here.”

i seriously doubt the wouldnt be allowed to go in for him now, why would they.

Dont think liverpool have even gone in for him and seeing as terms are supposedly been agreed with the player ,cant see him going back on his word ,wouldnt really go down to well,I think it'll be sorted soon.

Yes but Liverpool recieve like 2-3 million out of the fee and are wanting to use it on Atsu of Porto.

Either way their getting 3 million out of it and I bet they'd prefer that.
