I remember when we broke our transfer record by signing Godfrey Ingram from San Jose Earthquakes (I think??)
£110,000 - that was a huge amount to us then....
Now we appear to be spending £10m regularly
How times have changed

Crazy times, but it does concern me a bit.
Hopefully this gamble pays off!

Good timing on this post.
That Godfrey Ingram deal was the"SSamba to QPR and back to Anzhi" deal of its time.
Didn't we buy him for £110k then sell him back a season later for the same price? Very odd.

Yes it was a quarter of a million and then we sold him back for the same price

he did score a fantastic goal at the canton end right in front of me

It's nice to see us going for quality players but if all these rumours are true, we are going to go bust at this rate! It makes me laugh how those in favour of the rebrand are also in favour of our current spending attempts, despite their main reason for supporting the rebrand being for the "financial security of our club". You couldn't make it up, it seems some of our fans don't really care about the financial security of our club after all. They just want what I suspected from the beginning when they gave their support to the rebrand - success at any cost.

I think £110,000 was the figure Liverpool paid for old John Toshack if I remember right??
