Cardiff City have entered talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers about the possibility of taking Wayne Hennesey on a season long-loan. Hennesey is believed to want to play at a higher standard than league 1 and Wolves want him off the wage bill for a season.

Early stages yet but could be great competition for Marshall.

It all seems to fall in place, and makes sense. Also got this from a very reliable person. Just got back from injury but could be a good signing with premier league experience.

I've for to be honest might be a bit controversial but if Hennessy did sign I would have him as number 1 over Marshall .
Even though I think Marshall is a great keeper Hennessy would nick it for me !

What message does this send out to lewis? Maybe a loan move would be beneficial.

I wouldn't feel for Marshall. They are all in the prem now. It's time to step up

Hennessy is a decent keeper but currently recovering from not 1 but 2 ACL knee operations .

Marshall no doubt had a great season and it'll be interesting to see what happens if this falls in place.

Would be decent back up option for David Marshall. Joe Lewis as third choice keeper

I can't see this malky stated that marshall would be number 1 next season and that its 1 less place for him to worry about

HaHaHa - recall giving him so much abuse when he had that mare against when JFH swung in that amazing goal at Ninian in the game that put us in the Qtrs of the FA Cup. Was behind the goal for that one. He gave me such a look !!! HaHa

Don't see the point of this Marshall is better and would start so why would Hennessy come on loan to sit on the bench

Be a cracking signing mind better competition for marshall and will make eachother work harder and hit a higher standard of performance to get the no1 spot

Am I the only one that thinks Hennessey is woeful? He drops so many mistakes its unreal and he's not 1/4 the keeper Marshall is

Making the assumption going for a keeper is stupid because we have Marshall? We need a decent back up if he was banned or injured.

I think it'll be important to have 3 very strong goal keepers in the premier league. We don't want to be in a situation where one goalkeeper is injured we need to use the loan system. This time, the premier teams will be our rivals and will not be willing to help us out as they would have if we were in the championship.

It wasn't too long ago we had Marshall & Heaton out injured together for months and look what happened then!

Hennessey would at least be good back up for Marshall and I'm not convinced about Joe Lewis's Championship credentials, let alone his Premier league credentials!

I read Elijah Parish had been released. If true I can well believe another keeper could be brought in.
