Swansea City join Cardiff City in race for Blackpool's Tom Ince, according to reports

Blackpool's Tom Ince - Is he heading to South Wales?
By Gareth Rogers | 2 Jul 2013 10:23
Swansea City have moved in for Cardiff City's top target Tom Ince and are in talks to scupper the £8m move made by their rivals, according to reports.

Sky Sports and Mirror Football have all reported the Swans' last-ditch move for the England U21 star today.

Blackpool manager Paul Ince, who is also Tom's father, admitted at the weekend that the Bluebirds had made a "massive bid" for the winger, believed to be around £8m plus add-ons, and further reports suggest they are prepared to meet his £35k per week wage demands.

But now time will tell whether Michael Laudrup and Huw Jenkins will be prepared to match Blackpool's valuation of their starlet.

Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool are also in the frame for the 21-year-old as he started out at Andfield and the Reds have first refusal on a buy-back under the terms of his £500,000 transfer.

But should Ince move to South Wales for £8m, the Merseyside club would benefit to the tune of £4m as they have a 50 per cent sell on cause for the man who scored 18 goals in 44 Championship appearances last season.

Speaking from Blackpool's summer training camp in Portugal, Ince senior said: "I think it's 50/50 at the moment.

"It's a tricky one for me - ideally you want your son to be playing in the Premier League, but you also want him to be playing for you.

"I wouldn't put my hat on it that he'll be playing in the Premier League this year."

I thought it was all total hearsay till I saw this, didn't realise it had been elevated to paper talk other than people saying local papers had discredited it.Most probably is a load of bull anyway.I hope it is nonsense and Ince signs for us as I would be bitterly disappointed if he goes to ply his trade in that rat ridden council ground!

Im sure his dad will sort him out and he will soon be a Cardiff City player. :ayatollah:

This WAS covered yesterday, fella and dismissed when Carl stated a deal had been done. You need to remember newspapers are actually 'yesterday's news'

Can't fault you for trying, though. Better that than some of the shite being bandied around at the moment ;) :ayatollah:
