I just don't see liverpoool angle, this is a bit embarrassing for liverpool, they let him go for under a million only to resign him two years later for 8 million and lose their sell on clause........ I just can't see it.

Lets look at the possible "big" clubs-

United,Citeh,Chelski, Arsenal- No Chance
Spurs - They have bale and if he goes they have a lot of cash to splash
Villa, Everton ,Fulham -Wont spend
Newcastle, Sunderland - Both disasters waiting to happen

So he if left with Southampton, Palace, Hull,Stoke , Norwich, Jacks, Baggies, West ham (I doubt even let his old man into the ground) and us- Or stay at the seaside like Matt Philips who was everyone's darling last season.........

Good player, but has proven nothing . £8 million is one hell of a punt........ Time to get tough Malky....

Swansea have joined the race to sign in-demand winger Tom Ince from Blackpool.

Sky sources are reporting that talks are underway between the two clubs over the possible transfer of the England U21 international.

However, Premier League new boys Cardiff are also in the running to sign Ince, having tabled a bid believed to be in the region of £8m for the 21-year-old.

Ince's father Paul is the manager of Blackpool and said on Sunday: "Cardiff have come in massively for Thomas and the chairman has accepted their offer

"But Thomas loves it here and has told me he's in no rush to leave the club.

"I think it's 50/50 at the moment. It's a tricky one for me. Ideally you want your son to be playing in the Premier League, but you also want him to be playing for you."

If Ince is 50/50 he should stay. We should only want players who are 100% on coming here regardless of whether their motives are to use us as a stepping stone or not. Kim was 100% on coming here but there is no doubt we will be a stepping stone club for him because he is quality.

If he signs for Cardiff it's most likely because Swansea won't pay the asking price. Personally I'd take him for 5 but you can have him for 8.

future..just a hunch. Swansea are forming a really strong squad again this season and Cardiff (by Mackays own admission) are finding it hard to sign players. I think you'll struggle...although I think you'll only be fighting to stay out of one relegation spot as Palace and Hull should go down again.

Cardiff City have historically ALWAYS had bigger crowds than Swansea, a bigger fan base, a bigger Catchment area, Cardiff
City have always had large numbers of supporters from deep within Swansea's catchment area. Cardiff City have a far more
extensive record of playing in Europe. European semi-finals etc . Cardiff City have won a major trophy. Cardiff City have played
in three FA Cup fin alsand only missed out on a First Division title on goal difference. Cardiff City are in the process of raising the capacity of their ground to 42,000. Cardiff City play in a vibrant, exciting major European City. Cardiff City have a billionaire owner who's not afraid to splash the cash and has no intention of being cannon fodder this season as such he leaves the Football
side of things to his manager and takes care of the corporate side of things. So going by THOSE parameters, its ridiculous to suggest Swansea could possibly be as big a Club as Cardiff.

UNLESS, your saying so because you've had two seasons in the Premiership and won a minor trophy, because if thats your yardstick, then Wigan must be a much bigger club than Swansea
