SPEED CAMERA HELP!?!?

Right, really pissed off!!!

Going home tonight and i pass a speed camera i know really well...
I go through it at 25-28mph as i always do.

But as soon as i went through it, another car coming in the opposite direction comes through.

FLASH!!

I WAS DEFINITELY NOT SPEEDING!!

I believe the other car set it off, but i was on the side they catch you on. I was on the white marker lines when it flashed. So im shitting myself that i will be blamed!

Anyone know what happens in this case? What are the chances il get the blame? And if i do how would i dispute it because i was under 30mph guaranteed!


P.s. it only flashed once. I thought they flash twice?

Depends on the camera. Some do face on, others dont. If it was an older GATSO and hes going face on he wont get done either. If its a newer one then hes done for. They will be able to determine from the lines on the road whether or not you were speeding so if you weren't there is nothing to worry about.

If you noticed the lines on the road, these are what they use to calculate the speed you were travelling. Nothing to worry about.

Fella, the lines are there to measure the distance YOU travel in a certain timeframe, so the simple answer is that you have nothing to worry about (assuming you WERE within the speed limit)

The cam shows you on a line them lines are set so if you reach or pass 3 or 4 lines they know you are speeding ,each line has a speed value.

You should be ok mate,the camera on manor way flashed the other day and there was no fooker going past it

I believe that they can be set off by cars going the other way but the cameras only work one way so it seems unlikely that there is anything to worry about. Either way they have to write to you within 14 days with their NIP (notice of intention to prosecute) otherwise you can challenge it on a technicality. I tend to use this really helpful site (albeit with a weird URL) for all motoring related matters. Hope it helps
