With talks concerning proposed moves for Victor Wanyama and Tom Ince far down the line and Cardoza being spoken of, plus the signing of Cornelius, surely the focus and next batch of names linked will turn to defenders.
Personally I can see Malky going back in for Derby's John Brayford, personally I would hope we will take another look at Jack Hunt.
And an experienced pacy centre half wouldn't go amiss either

Mike Williamson seems to be waiting in the wings
Sun Jun 30, 2013 9:08 pm
like someone said earlier, if Lescott is available we should try our luck with him!
Sun Jun 30, 2013 9:12 pm
Jack Hunt would be a great signing had Bellamy in his pocket

Wigan going in for a 1.5m bid for Brayford
Sun Jun 30, 2013 9:13 pm
I hope we can wrap up wanyama, ince!! Interesting to see what happens with gomis and cardoza!!
It seemed like Barnett was going to be one of our first signings but perhaps malky had set his sights on even better defenders! Even though I would be happy with Barnett!!
Interesting few weeks!!

Lescott's wages must be an issue ?
Sun Jun 30, 2013 9:14 pm
Lets get Wanyama done first. Lets also not forget Wanyama can play as a CB.

Jack Hunt

Love the name

how much is he on? pretty sure he will know he'll have to take a cut if he wants to join a different club

Good not good enough for the premier league.

Perhaps Malky has a couple of young South Americans or Europeans in mind.....you never know

Young and Hungry looks like Malky's plan , Leon Barnett would be the Pacy centre half, is my guess

According to google he's on 4.68 million PA. Just quickly that's close to 100K per week!
I know we're ambitious but I cant see us spending money on transfer fee and that kind of wage!

Defenders are the main priority if we are to survive IMO.

Also he wouldn't drop down from that.
One thing about Man City is if your going to buy anyone from there you will be most likely not be able to get a player to a wage cut.

Any developments on Leon Barnett?

No contact made with him, last thing the club spoke to him about was thanking him for his contribution

A pair of fullbacks are needed the most. Our centre halves are good enough as long as we don't get too many injuries. The 4141 way we line up makes the defensive midfielder more important. Wanayama would be ideal for this, hence the big fee.

Brayford was best right back I saw last season in championship. Would welcome him as he is a good passer of ball and solid at back. Plenty of good defenders out there. I'm sure Malky has a few lined up:
Sun Jun 30, 2013 9:41 pm
Lescott yes but for 100k a week no.
i would prefer experience at the back but not at that price.

Maybe a cheeky loan for lescott and pay 40% of his wages? All the rumours about Ince beig on that kind of money worth a cheeky punt with lescott.
Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:46 pm
Look, these names being banded about like Cardozo and Lescott is absurd. We can attract these players in a few years but right now, no hope at all.
Lescotts on nearly 100k a week, I doubt we could offer him half that at the moment, these City players will command big wages everywhere they go because that's what they are used to.

Very good point. We do need another CB but need a quality right back and another left back to compete with Taylor.

Sorry but he'd have to go through deed-poll before coming here. Imagine the chants

Providing we actually get Victor and Tom Ince, I think our midfield would be more than good enough for the PL; however I'd say we need at least a CB, LB and a RB. William Gallas on a free? he's an experienced champions league, world cup, euros, PL player.
