"It's all a smokescreen!"

Sun Jun 30, 2013 7:13 pm

Is the most common phrase I've seen this pre season by fans who don't believe anything!

Gomis interest. Smokescreen for Cornelius
Ince. Another smoke screen. Having a bid accepted a smokescreen
Cornelius. Buying him is 100% a smokescreen
Wanyama. Definitely a smokescreen for us to spend £10m on another defensive midfielder from somewhere else

Before Malky has to worry about keeping us up, he should be concerned about catching emphysema

:)

I think cornelius was one of malkys main targets tony which he was able to keep under the radar. Ince and wanyama are also his targets I believe but unfortunately for us both players agents have made it a very public affair
I am hoping the very public chasing of ince means we are tying up wanyama in the background or better still the public courting of ince makes wanyama commit.
All exciting times which we have dreamt about for years

Indeed mate. Living the dream. The way Malky gets his business done under the radar is immense. A hell of a lot of background work goes into each target with dossiers and thorough checks on all attributes

In reply to Locksy, we've probably been planning a move on Cardozo over months and personally I don't think we'd bid for anyone without prior knowledge that we stand a good chance of enticing that player. It's crazy to think we're linked with Oscar Cardozo, one of the worlds leading centre forwards

Closely followed by "He's not a malky type player"

I wasn't being totally serious Karl. I've seen the word smokescreen quite a few times though!

Its just hard to get my head around us being linked with such a player.
