So Malky has supposedly given Tom a 24 hour deadline to sign for Cardiff, but now Liverpool have 48 hours in which to match the bid with a £5.2 million bid and meanwhile Tom is on holiday and daddy said they will talk about it a week Monday.

If the Liverpool bid clause is in Tom's contract then Malky can't have set the 24 hour deadline or is he being clever and forcing Tom to turn down Liverpool BEFORE they even bid.

I don't think the Malky deadline is there to stop Ince letting it run until 8th July, I think it's more to do with the Liverpool counter offer. Get Tom to decide now thereby negating any Liverpool,bid before its even made.
