60 Mio Euros deal turned down by the player

Sat Jun 29, 2013 9:45 am

A couple of clubs were after Schalke's teenage star Julian Draxler (19) a few weeks ago, but Julian signed a new contract with his hometown club.

However, he has a buy-out clause in his new Schalke contract, if a club triggers the demanded 45.5 mio Euros, they can talk to Draxler and his agent...

Man City, Real Madrid and another unnamed Premiership club were prepared to do so and agreed on the fee...

Man City and Real both offered Draxler a 5 year contract, earning 12 Mio Euros per season = 60 Mio for the young German international...

...but he turned both deals dow, insisting, "I am a Schalke player, I want to get into the Champions League with my club, win the German Championship and make the World Cup Squad next year" :ayatollah:

I am no fool, sooner or later he will leave Schalke, unless we can step up and win the Bundesliga. 45.5 Mio would be the highest ever transfer fee in the Bundesliga... untill the "Jule" will play in royal-blue...

he is well established, Schalke's #10, full German International, with a contract at Schalke, earning himself 3 Mio Euros a season...
Bayern and Dortmund were also after him, but Jule turned them down before he signed a new contract at Schalke ("I'm a Schalke boy, I would never play for Dortmund...")

its all over the German media today, and was confirmed by officials

The boy has his loyalties and he signed a contract and is not looking back on it and his looking forward to carry on with Schalke, the boy sounds like he is really focused on his career and not motivated by jumping ship for money etc.
