  I would be amazed if we landed him. Excellent player and would have thought he would rather stay at Benfica and play champions league football. :ayatollah:

We have apparently bid 12m Euros (10.2m pounds) for Cardozo, and Southampton have bid 20m Euros for Leandro Damiao. :o

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini targeting Oscar Cardozo

MANCHESTER CITY boss Manuel Pellegrini is targeting Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo as a replacement for Carlos Tevez.

Pellegrini’s attempts to sign Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund have been frustrated so he has trained his sights on £16.5 million-rated Paraguay striker Cardozo, whose future has been uncertain since a bust-up with manager Jorge Jesus .

His agent said: “Benfi ca know the situation and now it is in their hands. There has always been interest from the Premier League – but now this is real interest.”

Benfica's Oscar Cardozo is interesting PL clubs, his agent has said, amid rumours the striker has had a falling-out with coach Jorge Jesus

Possibly the same crazy bastards who thought we stood a chance of getting Victor Wanyama..

Wait a minute... ;)

I wish my marching powder came from Peru.

£12m for a 30 year old. Good player, a name and known quantity but his value is ever decreasing at that age. Can't see it myself but if Malky wants him and we get him then of course we must support him. In Malky We Trust.

We wouldn't want Messi at the moment. Too injury prone

Very surprised to be linked with Cardozo. Would be a massive sign of intent. Whoever believes the Leandro Damiao rumour needs to get their head read, the guy is going to move for a fee of at least 20m. Crazy we are even talking about these players though!

Another 6ft+ striker? I doubt it.

More like another smokescreen from MM me thinkst.

Expect a completely different signing nobody saw coming.

Fenerbahce aren't in the Champions League so we stand more of a chance, we will offer an incredible amount of wages but we could win the FA Cup/Carling Cup this year with the right reinforcements
