Song about The City

Alright gentleman, not posted here for a long long time, mainly cos I couldn't remember the password and couldn't be arsed sorting it out to be honest. Still been looking at the board everyday mind.
Anyway had this song tumbling round in my head for a while with one line resonating - "it started at the riverside" I think it started out being loosely based around 'Hazard' by Richard Marx but the idea of a song about the City suddenly took seed and this evening I finally got round to finishing some lyrics, with the help of a bottle of scotch, a cheap electric piano, and my mobile phone put a really rough demo down. Be good to here what you fellas think.
Coupla things to consider, I can't really play piano (only been playing for bout 4 months) can't really sing (I'm more of an indie/punk shouty type of singer but for some reason when writing on piano I seem to write shite Gary Barlow Esque ballads which require a better standard of singing than I can genuinely deliver and last nigh on 7 minutes) and I am also quite pissed which generally doesn't help other than make me look rock and roll (on my own in my house)

Whilst I'm here just a couple of things to say before I forget the password again:
Barnett.... whilst you are still clearly an annoying tw*t occasionally you do make me laugh. But your still a tw*t.
Carl.... continued gratitude for the updates and putting your head on the line to get shot at by a bunch of numpties. Ignore the fools and keep up the good work.
1948.... you need to step up your game son, you were by a country mile the best, most amusing poster on here, but the humor seems to have gone, haven't seen a line like 'who the f**k put ten pence in you you c**t for ages'
To the lad who's up Barnett's arse all the time.... sorry can't remember your name, but seriously you are coming across as one seriously sycophantic sad fucker right now fella. Might want to tone it down a bit.

I liked this best.
The poster I think you may be referring to by the way is Dando. Hes one of the best posters on here, realistic and a legend. He'll be rich by the time hes 25.

Aye that's the fella, i guess you know the lad personally, and am sure you can judge far better than me based on that but from an outsiders point of view all I ever seem to see are posts kissing your ass.
As you know you can get on my tits at times, but I do also have a bit of respect for you as when not on a wind up you can make some sense (occasionally) maybe I've not seen the best of Dando (hence why I say he should tone it downa bit and be his own man rather than number two to an intelligent but self confessed WUM)
