There's a big difference between sponsorship and branding.

All clubs have been sponsored for years, the league is even sponsored, but our home kit is white which is the big difference.

Spot on. Premier League Asia Trophy. Even the league has got its money roots firmly planted in Asian shores. Tells us all we need to know. Nothing to do with popularity, everything to do with marketing and money.

Any word on the value of the sponsorship? They were looking for a partner to help fund the stadium expansion. Would have to be a decent sponsorship in value.

You cannot compare a sponsorship with club ownership. Tan put enough in to have his say in everything about the club and that investment far outweighed any sponsorship.

He still got it wrong though. He could have been a hero to ALL. But I still appreciate he paid to have the right to f**k it up. Well he will when it's all equity.

We are a welsh club playing in the English PL with a Malaysian sponsor, hence the flags etc. VT must feel he's getting a return from using Malaysia as the shirt sponsor, otherwise no doubt he would look elsewhere.
