Sociedad friendly off

No big deal

Cardiff City's glamour friendly against Real Sociedad has been cancelled after the Primera Liga outfit opted to play Tottenham Hotspur instead.

The Basque outfit will be based in Reading on their pre-season tour and, due to the logistics of travelling to Cardiff, have opted to play a match in London against Andre Villas Boas' team.

The high-profile match, which was pencilled in for the first weekend in August was described by sources in Spain as 99 per cent certain to go ahead, but the Bluebirds are now searching for other opponents.

Sources close to the club today say they are close to unveiling their glamour summer opponents.

Wouldn't go anyway.

Hate friendly games - meaningless waste of time.
