No more Gomis rumours?

Thu Jun 27, 2013 7:49 pm

With the signing of Andreas Cornelius all but wrapped up, is this the end of all the Gomis rumours? Both very similar players, strong, aerial threat and pacey too.

Also is this our forward line complete for next season or do you think it needs a little more strengthening?

I'm more excited about signing Cornelius that I would've been with Gomis. Cornelius is only 20, Gomis is 28.

I am excited by the new signing and hopefully we will look for a different striker. Kone would be good but Everton are trying to get him.

I'm loving the signing of Cornelius. Last season he had an outstanding season in the Denmark league and on the international stage for Denmark too.

Personally I think Kone is over rated, wouldn't like him here.

This.

When he was linked to stoke i remember thinking id love him here.

To answer the OP, yes i'd imagine so mate. Personally think players we have been linked with in the press are all a mix of agents/made up shit AND malky putting stuff out there so he can get on and sign who he wants with no bother..

This is a great signing. The clips on youtube clearly show that he knows where the goal is and he is such an aerial threat I could see him getting 20 next season.

It shows intent and maybe Gomis (and others) may sit up and take note that we mean business - and that we are not in the Premiership to make up the numbers

Lets not forget Fraizer and Maynard. Premiership strikers in their own right - and, of course, Bellars can also play up front.

Plenty of options.

No chance he will score 20 goals! He scored 18 in the Danish league...
I predict he will score between 8-10 goals next season :ayatollah:

Yes, we will go for a fast pacey striker who knows where the goal is now :ayatollah:

Premier League 2013 Top 5 Goalscorers
RVP - 26
Suarez - 23
Bale - 21
Benteke - 19
Michu - 17

You honestly think he will be among those five players? Do you think he will score more than Michu and Benteke? I don't think so...Possible but highly doubtful.

Point you were TRYING to make was that he only scored 18 in a poor danish league so wouldn't score more in a stronger PL ...admit it..

When Michu signed for the Jacks, who would've said, "he'll be in the top 5 goalscorers"? Same goes for Benteke.

I'm being realistic he was unknown in Denmark last year...He's only 20 he's not going to be up there just yet in this moment of time but he has the potential to be a great player in a few years.

If he scores 10 he's had a good season for me. New league, new style of play, new manager.

I go along with that. 10 would be good.
Next seasons top scorer and nice to have someone get into double figures?
