How did the world and people evolve ? This`ll be interesting .......................also if you dont believe in God how comes he gets the blame for disasters etc and everyone is in a place called heaven when they die ? Cant have it both ways

OH NO this`ll turn into a debate .

Agree Religion is a farce but Christianity is a personal relationship and experience

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

Just one of my favourite quotes against religion

But JW would say Christians are wrong as with all other religions say that there's is the true religion, then arguments start, then wars etc all in the name of god Now that can't be right can it?

It'll be rammed there this weekend, always is.

As for religion. My daughter asked a question of a visiting priest in their Religious Studies GCSE lesson (which like Welsh is compulsory but that's another argument). She asked that if a person lives their life perfectly but doesn't believe in God, when they die would they go to heaven. He said no, they had to believe to be allowed into heaven.

She then asked if it was correct that a person can live an appalling life, break the commandments, break all laws, go to jail for years and years then as long as they confess in the eyes of God they would go to heaven. He said yes.

He then had the gaul to ask if she now understood how it should be. Fair do's to her she said that she understood precisely and knew how she intended to live her life. He didn't bat an eyelid.

Simple - Christians believe the Bible is the Word of God - anything not practised via this is not part of Christianity .

JW` actually misquote certain verses - sad and misleading - Anyone intersted read Gospel of Mark then welcome to post on here and chat :)

Russell's teapot also points out how ludicrous religion is

If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes.
But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense.

If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.

religion is man made.the spirit isn,t.i always think if someone hasn,t had a spiritual exp then they cannot really talk about the power of god.i go to church but it is pretty low key on religious acts.mainly we just sing and listen to bible readings or a talk to do with the reading and how it comes into play in 2013.

Ludicrous - When you ask deeper questions like - How was man and woman actually created ? How was the earth formed ? The teapot theory is is just that

Science has theorys for both of them. And just that theory you see science works by trying to find problems with theory's whereas religion works by ignoring the problems with there theories

This :ayatollah:

i have atheists say to me they don,t believe in religion.to that i have replied you do.you have a religion and it,s called atheism.you spend more time trying to dis prove god than i do reading a bible.if i am not bothered about something then i dont spend hours reading about it.in the 12 step group i use i have saw rampant athesists who have allowed the light into their lives become believers.in every case life has took on a new meaning.the seemingly important issues of life become unimportant.faith becomes a priority .life improves beyond their wildest dreams

Sorry but is just ridiculous religions just deny the evidence against them science does not.

I can't see how an educated person in our day and age can still believe in a god or gods.

But anyway as with many things we will have to agree to disagree
