Potential new signings - Not sure of them

Thu Jun 27, 2013 9:46 am

Wanyama, he seems a money grabber controlled by agents. Believes he showed great loyalty and service to Celtic - but only there for 2 years and tried to leave after one.
Played in a Mickey Mouse league and thinks he is a world beater.

Ince, he wants a move to a big club. Why? Because his dad played for big clubs? What has he done? Played well in a decent Championship team. Remember he was gash in the U21 competition recently. Holding out for a PL top 4 team - no chance. Liverpool it seems do not want him back, although they get a cut price deal.

I think the £18 million (reported fees) could be better spent on players who want to come to us.

I accept a lot of this is media speculation and we are not that attractive a prospect (one of the relegation favourites).
They do not seem MM type of people.
Prefer to keep looking elsewhere for better and cheaper players - not those with a big inflated ego of themselves

The problem with buying players that WANT to come to us is that they are probably not good enough.

I think it's great that we are after players that may just be out of our reach. It only takes one to say, tell you what, I'll give it a go and others may follow.

I'm sure the fall backs will be grafters who will battle to stop relegation, but while we have the time let's try for a few that could get us further up the table.

Bang on mate, in amongst the grafters we need some quality.

Having said that whilst I think Wanyama would do a good job for city I'm not convinced by Ince. We must also have scouts abroad so you never know. There are players in Italy and Spain willing to cut their teeth with us no doubt, we just have to find them and this takes time.

I have faith in Malky and understand he wants a unified dressing room without the ego's etc, however he may have to accept that most quality players will have some baggage wit them. recent examples are RVP having a rape charge, Rooney throwing a wobbly at least once a season, Tevez going on strike, Darren bent telling Lambert he didn't rate him as a manager, this list is endless.
