Seems a lot, you would think 25-30 max.

I do think he was will be a top signing tho.

We can afford it. Once Bellamy's gone, the wage bill will be a bit lighter :malky:

Henderson is on £60k per week at Liverpool. Hardly surprising. English prospect and it'll cost a premium. If you want the best and want to do well then you have to pay these premiums. Is Ince worth £40k per week? In reality no but neither is Rooney worth £250k per week and neither is Torres worth £50m in a transfer fee.

Modern football is what it is.

Very good point Jordan and people must remember some players will be let go or sold to lighten the load as well. Just because they haven't been cut loose or told they have no future at Cardiff City yet doesn't mean its not going to happen. There is still a lot of time left in the window. Malky will get his targets I believe, assess everything and then cut those out who dont make the grade.

Probably about right. Can't see us getting anyone on the cheap now we're in the Prem.

Bellamys going nowhere.
he'll be part of malkys plan for a couple of season's.as for the 40k that's the norm now where in the premier.

Plus we will lighten the load ourselves when selling players, and loaning out.

At the end of this season he will retire. With the signings of Ince etc and the plan Malky has with the youthful players, Bellamy's contract ends, he will want to stay at the club in a role to help him progress his managerial career, won't leave the club on a whole but will be on a significant wage cut

Here we go the accountants are off.

I remember when football fans were just that. Football fans. Not bloody financial experts.

Thank you Barnett, exactly people don't understand this, a lot of the lesser quality players will leave.

There is no way in hell we are going to pay 40k per week for a player who hasnt played in the top flight yet. You earn your stripes for a salary like that...which he's yet to do. Pure gash!

welcome to the premier league.
everyone wants a slice of the tv money.

id say 20-40k is what most premier league players earn. its the way it is as they say. we may well have to pay a bit more to lure them in, we aint no top 10 club yet..... 8-)

Malky will try and remain upbeat on not paying over the odds for players but he's in a whole different pond right now, he's either going to have to admit defeat on players or pay the top dollar. He has his principles but I can't see him losing his man

I'd counter that by saying chelseas oscar is playing for brazil on bbc 3 now and he's on 40g a week. Courtinho another Brazilian for liverpool is on 20g a week. If you're talking english players everton were paying leighton baines 35 g a week last season.

Although football is in its own little warped bubble it still has simple common rules at its core. In any job, if ever you get a promotion to a job you have no experience in but you've luckily been put in that position as you show promise....you don't then go and demand 60k a year for a 40k job at best, at what is a average sized business! This happened to me, manager left...they put me in that position and save LOTS of money, when I proved my worth 2 years later I got a higher salary tenfold.

How do you know he's on 40k a week???
Even of its true that's a normal salary for an average Premier League player.
Andy Carroll is on 100k a week and Jordon Henderson is on 60k a week we took those players to penalties at Wembley.

And if we pay ince 40 grand a week a lot of agents will be licking their lips the rest of the summer at the thought of negotiating with cardiff.

They'll absolutely smash up their players wage demands.

Oscar signed as a foreign talent and unproven in Britain.
Coutinho signed as a foreign talent, unproven in Britain.
Baines has been at Everton for years and is pushing for a move elsewhere to a place where he'll get paid a hell of a lot more. He cant really demand more at Everton, he signed a contract years ago at near the going rate. Inflation kicks in and now the going rate is higher.

When you have donkey's like Carroll demanding £100k per week then £40k per week isn't that bad.
