Transfer Window Madness by Southampton fan

Wed Jun 26, 2013 4:12 pm

First up, as a Southampton fan it will be good to play you next season. Secondly, it looks like we are both being played a bit by the Agent of Wanyama. He asked us to pay him over a million to sign the player which is ludicrous and rightly we told them where to go.

If you get him he seems a very very promising player and it will be interesting to see how he does but I think they are both waitong for a bigger team to come in for him.

It kind of sums up the transfer window and the activity related to it. I wanted to share this article I have written with you, there could have been a Wanyama paragraph!

Good luck for the season, you are showing some good ambition in the transfer market, we had/have the same issue, persuading players that you won't be going down (I doubt you will) and thatlong term you are a better bet than the 'safe' options they probably also have ie clubs that may stay up but will go nowhere, Villa, Sunderland, West Ham etc.

There is possibly too much information available these days. Becoming harder and harder to filter through the crap!

That's a great article BTL much better than our TLG's

Seriously what you say about 'ITK' posters is very true but there again we would be all worse off with out them :(

Good read.

Sept1 is a great idea but perhaps a bit late!

Yeah would have to be earlier than that to actually work.

We all know the window should shut the Friday before the first game in each league anyway. Ludicrous how transfers overshadow the start of the season.

Agents were getting 600k of the 10m is 400k extra all that in 10m?

Some sources have said agent wants well over 1m. For doing what exactly? Our Chairman hates paying agents so not suprised by our stance. We spent a lot last summer, over 30m but spent the least on agents.

You of course may have a different approach and if you get the player then thats fair enough.

It is when you consider that it's nearly double what they should be getting (even though I don't think they should get even near 400k.)

Exactly. The Agent in this case is redundant. He hasn't brought the club and player together, he just wants to line his pocket. Wanayama is along with Steven Pienaar his most high profile client so he wants a payday.
