Because as the 1st Aproaches leaks will start to come out. Especially to people in the world of football and journalism.

I've posted this before I'll do it again:

There are two transfer windows in each Barclays Premier League season.

The first commences at midnight on the last day of the season and ends on 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.

The second transfer window commences at midnight on the 31 December and ends on the 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.

Temporary transfers can be made permanent outside of the transfer windows. For further information please see the rules in the Premier League Handbook.

Yes on June 11th I think. My understanding is if its premier league to premier league club then it can be done and announced.

This is why wagamama kyut and ince wouldn't be announced till Monday anyway.

However Carroll was announced because he was going from lfc to the spammers.

Nope, signings can be announced and pre-contracts signed, but players can't be registered till July 1st

I had heard that one of the reasons that certain deals like Barnett might not of gone through yet is that technically they have over 1year left on there contracts, where as after July 1st, they are less than 1 year to the end of contract (normally expiring on 30th June) and the buying club has more power. Seems silly over a few days I know but apparently that is the case.

Craig many people don't understand the difference between a "Transfer Window" and a "Registration Period" and with football taking place throughout the world it is difficult to get your head around it all.

Football Association / Premier League or Football League rules on the transfer / registration of players have one thing in common and that is they ALL comply to FIFA regulations.

In ALL cases the summer registration period starts immediately after the last day of the season, which with football taking place throughout the world is not the day after Premier League or Football League fixtures are completed. Traditionally that date is 30th June each season although that can vary during World Cup Final years. FIFA are currently running the confederations cup competition in Brazil which will end on 30th June. Then officially the 2012/13 season will end.

The following day the summer registration period will begin and the FA / PL/ FL will start processing registrations for the coming season. This summer transfer window can run, under FIFA rules, for a maximum of 12 weeks which means that players can be "signed" during the month of June but the registration cannot be confirmed until 1st July.

So on Monday the summer "Registration" period opens and I believe just like you that we will see a whole raft of transfers being announced in the following days, Why? because the deals have already been set up in the weeks leading up to the registration period opening.

Some clubs like to announce they have signed players but in recent years our club has taken tended to announce signings after they have accepted by the FA / FL.

I really believe that is what is happening now, that and a lot of hard work trying to negotiate deals.

I seem to remember something about the Joe Ledley transfer to Celtic where he waited until 1 July to sign for them because that was the start of a new season and for some reason it meant that the Bhoys didn't have to pay a development fee?
