VALUE FOR MONEY?

Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:47 am

Interested to know what you think?

Although I think Wanyama is overpriced as well.
SPL is not a good standard and a big, quick and fast player like him will always look good, bossing the game. It seems he cannot pass very well.

Can't vote for either as I think they would be both good value for money, you should have put a third and fourth option both or none

I think you've missed the question. It's not, which one is value for money. It's which is more value for money than the other.

I think you've missed the answer, where they would both be equal levels.

It's true that he's "probably" still an investment at £8m

Not in the poll i know, but i believe the money spent on Kimbo last year will be better value than both these players

I think Kim will prove to be an absolute steal for 2.5 mil!

On inces true market value it's worth remembering that out of 22 prem clubs we are the only ones to apparently be willing to match blackpools asking price. That leaves 21 out of 22 clubs who probably think ince is not value for money at 8 mil.

The prem club who should know ince and his value best is liverpool, having come through their ranks, so should have a better than most idea on the players ability, temperament, attitude etc.

As reports suggest liverpool have a 35% sell on clause inserted in his contract they could feasibly match blackpools asking price and still pay only approximately 5.8 mil. Has they seem to not want to take up this offer i fail to see how anyone could possibly value ince above the 5.8 mil mark.

since when has there been 22 prem clubs?

Re: VALUE FOR MONEY?

I feel as both players were purchased for several £100k(s) by their current clubs and have improved dramatically.
Their value has rocketed and they're both very young,Leaving more room for improvement and increase In value (Potentially).
People who question whether or not its right to purchase them, should ask themselves when was the last time we were in competition with Liverpool,Arsenal and Tottenham to sign players?
If we think like a championship club then we will end up a championship club.

There is a saying, 'to dare is to dream' and whilst QPR dared and are now a nightmare, blueprints are there to be annalysed and rectified. Spending money on players is different to wasting money. Hughes has a lot to answer for at QPR,IMO.

You're being a little myopic here. Although you're right in that Liverpool could more or less match our bid for £5.8m we're not on the same level. Perhaps they could use that money towards buying a more established player in the same position? It would then make sense for them to stay out of the bidding. There are many factors that individual clubs would consider before making a bid for a player.

In my opinion £8m is a bit high but there is still plenty of room for future profit. If he signs and has a half decent season he'll be worth £12m+

Sorry, 20. I was adding qpr and wigan as they could also with parachute payments bid for ince with the view of going straight back up. I doubt if reading would spend that much.

But liverpool have just bought two players who play in ince's position. Aspas ( think that's his name) from celts viga cost 6.8 mil and someone else who ive never heard of from sevilla for 4 mil.

I'm not saying ince is a bad player or hasn't got potential, I just think the interest shown in him shows imo he's way overvalued.

Need a winger more than we do a central midfielder
