hi guys, im interested in joining a gym for training, and basically my questions is,
1) do they take beginners, like for people who've never thrown a punch
2) will it whip you into shape.

Hi Mate,
No problem doing MMA, we all have to start somewhere and any decent Gym will happily accept you. Be prepared however to be put through the mill as the traninig is intense but enjoyable and you will not only lose weight but become a lot more mentally stronger. Its not all about 'throwing a punch' - you have to learn to defende before you attack so you will work on groundwork.
This is one of the most physical and bodysapping parts of doing MMA but it will help you massively.
Before you do join any gyms i would recommend you do a bit of homework and see if theres any kind of write ups about it as there are some places that are just full of 'edders and you will not get any satisfaction from it, just broken bones
